Bannan Backs Lambert Appointment

Villa and Scotland midfielder Barry Bannan has not long since been on Sky Sports news.

He told them IF Paul Lambert is the man, he thinks it will be good.

He explained at what looked like a golf course ... 'He has done very well with Norwich and the clubs he was at before then. He has a good record up until now so hopefully, if it is Lambert, he can be as successful with us as he has with his previous teams.'

Adding, 'Obviously last season wasn't the best for a team as big as us. We should have been way higher up the league and I think they see Lambert as an up-and-coming manager that is doing really well, so it is going to be a massive lift for everyone, the fans and the players as well."

'It is a fresh start for everyone again and hopefully in pre-season everyone is going to have a chance to prove their worth to the club.'

Amen... Lets hope this is announced soon, we can then start talking about transfers! lol

Be great to be back on the same page and for a bit of unity amongst the fans and hopefully a bit of excitement for the new season, the doom last year even got to the moderates and opti`s and was exhausting.

Shay Given also backed the appointment: Great Scot! Paul's Given Backing!

No point brown nosing Barry ..... you're *****e and you'll be transfered at long last, thank God !!! Lambert won't put up with your flash harry ways of clubbing and drinking every night.

Spot on astonmilan ... look out for a series of press-releases, tweets, and toots as they queue up behind his backside. Twonks!

Bannan is looking forward to anybody joining the club that can give him a lift into work.

Have to say I've been contemplating on whether I would be bothered if we got rid of Bannan, maybe we can off load him to the bin dippers for 20mil
Green Villan
Think Bannan's days are numbered. He's too lightweight for the PL and dedication is in question.

I must be a nutter or dumb but i ike Bannan, im not saying he is going to be a star player for us but in a 5 man midfield i think he can hurt teams if liscened to get forward and support the forwards a link up man between midfied and striker if Ireland is injured say, but thats just my opinion yes he needs to sort his drinking habits out but there are a few others at villa that need to aswell mentioning no names, Lambert will sort this club out he will take no nonsense approach, UTV!
ClivetheVillan
agree with clive. Bannan has some good touches and has an eye for going forward.

Nice to see so many have never made a mistake in their lives.

These press comments always keep me amused when a new man comes in. IT's hardly as if Bannan is going to stand there and say "actually do you know what I think it's a terrible appointment. I'd have much prefered OGS!" The British footballing press - full of inanity and duplicity!!

Well said Mike, being a young lad on 20k a week or so must be one of the craziest situations to find yourself in at that age whilst having the media ready to pounce on you and drag your name throught the mud for any mistake you make i mean when i was 20/21 i was a rebel out on the town can't remember some of my youth lol mistakes we all make its how we bounce back that matters, Bannan can be a player for us i think as wittonwisdom says he is attack minded thats what we need more of

Everyone deserves a second chance. He's still sh11te and needs to be sold regardless. Too lightweight for English men's football at any level. 2nd chance for him should be in Spain at a midtable team.

Judging any player at Villa on last season is difficult. The season before he looked promising and his assist for that Albrighton goal was very special. His attitude looks poor though, only have to see a random twitter entry to see he's tucking into another Nandos or some fried up mess. All the stories about players out drinking, as Salgado said, footballers find that news annoying as fans only slaughter players for it when the team is losing. If it is winning, that never makes the news. Next season everything will be different.

Agree with Clive. Give the lad another chance. I'm not sure that Bannan has yet had a fair chance to prove himself. It would be interesting to see what he can do with a more attacking philosophy at the club. Its difficult to play an attacking midfielders game when everyone is behind you. On a different point bI hope the negative sentiments that were directed at the manager last year and not simply going to be redirected at selected players next season. It'd be good to see of the constant negative posters find a positive angle for a change.
