Bent Backs Andi For Success

Darren Bent, who has waxed lyrical about Andi Weimann before, has said he was very impressed with how he ended the season and he thinks he's going to be serious competition next campaign.

Speaking to the Official Site - and a few of these comments are a rehash I think, but definitely worth reading again - Bent said:

'Andi is one of the best natural finishers I have seen for a long time. In training he never seems to miss the target, he's always on the scoresheet. He has all the attributes to be a top striker. I was impressed with him when he came to the fore at the end of the season and I think he can take that on when the new campaign begins.'

Bent again adds that he reminds him of Dean Ashton in terms of his style, and we all saw how lively and skillful he can be last campaign.

Another youngster who coul really explode if used in the right way next season, and there's nothing like seeing an Academy ex make it!

just concerned then that IF we buy holt he falls down the order yet again which will hinder his development. although in the ideal world of 4 strikers, bent/holt/weiman and gabby fonz can warm championship benches utv

Good point Dean and I hope that won't be the case although Del-Boy can leave as he is not good enough for the Villa.

Agreed. If we can get Holt at a decent price, Bent/Holt/Weimmann with Gabby on the bench perhaps. Also agree the fonz isn't good enough.... he seems to run around like an old man!
