I think Lambert is the sensible solid choice, I'd not be upset with Martinez or Di Matteo. Benitez I just can't see and not that keen on him! Gus? Bit soon imho and not really an exciting one.

I agree with The Fear on Lambert, but does his MON connection make such an appointment difficult for both Lerner and Lambert? Also if it is to be Lambert, wouldn't it have happened by now? Same with Rodgers. It looks more likely to be Martinez if he doesn't join Liverpool or Di Matteo if Chelsea don't want him. If not Lambert, Rodgers or Martinez (don't really like the aloof Di Matteo) I think Gus Poyet would be worth the risk.

how is lambert a solid choice? he is still a massive risk as one premiership season doesnt define how good you are as a manager

Yes, we are nervous. Very nervous actually. 1/ Because of the track record of our current "custodian" and 2/ Because all at VP apparently are "relaxed"over the appointment of "Mr X" because we have such a lot of time and not a lot to do.... I DON'T THINK!!!!!!

he also has a close friendship with Stiliyan Petrov thought M5Villa and Stan would give us a glowing reference I'm sure!

Only one on the list i don't fancy is the fat spanish waiter, otherwise happy with any of them. Of course if it is the FSW then I'd be behind him 100%

It will be a gamble whoever we get. No money to spend but high expectation by naive Faulkner and Lerner. I'd go for Rodgers. He also has something in common with Brian Clough. Could be an oman for us villa faithfull.

We say we have ambition if we do I'd go hard for Rodgers, make him an offer he can't resist. If still no I'd go for AVB and have Martinez and Poyet as backups. I can't see why a big club like ours with the ambition Lerner talks of couldn't get Rodgers or AVB, unless Lerner doesn't have ambition

Yeah I'd have Zola, I rate him highly just need the right staff with him, coaches etc. At the moment he would probably be 5th in line on my list. I reeeeeeeaally hope we nail someone down in the next few days, I can't take this! ha... As long as they get it right I hear you say... I'll second that
