AVFC Transfer Talk - Which Is A Bit Baffling!

AVFC Transfer Talk - Which Is A Bit Baffling!

Only two snippets and neither earth shattering if I`m honest!

The press this week have said that Jermaine Jenas is wanted by QPR to replace Joey Thug. Not directly our business now but obviously he had a very unsuccessful loan spell at Villa last season.

Meanwhile Huddersfield have put a hands off sort of price on the head of 40 goal scoring Jordan Rhodes. The say they`d want £8million with Villa amongst others interested.

Can we be interested whilst we`ve not got a manager?

West Ham apparently tried £4m and £6m bids last January.

The only interesting part of this is their manager is Simon Grayson who has been linked to us (and some say was at Bodymoor last week). He says: 'We may have to consider acceptable offers, but £3.5m doesn't come close. It might be the right figure for someone who has scored 10-15 goals, but not 40. It wouldn't be enough to buy Jordan's right boot, let alone all of him.'

Rhodes would be an obvious one if Grayson did come in as manager. Can't see them opting for him though?

Given the play-off final this afternoon it may (only may) account for the lack of news if SG were to be appointed. Almost the same initials as OGS - did the press simply get the initials in the wrong order? May have been a decent shout if he had not been sacked by Leeds, his career seemed to be on an upward slope til then..
