It's a crime we didn't build on it. But yes, a Big Thank You...Memories can't be taken away.

When Villa ruled the waves!.. Awesome memories.. Went on the football special Train to Dover-Ferry to Ostend-Coach to Rotterdam!.. Best Villa side i have ever seen by a country mile.. Shame on Bendalls for not giving Ron Saunders the job for life & then Shame on HD Ellis for coming in & running the champions of Europe like a corner shop for 25 years! Oh For a Villa side like that now hey!.. What a period of my life that was winning the League & then the European cup.. The memory of the evening sun & thousands upon thousands of camera flashes glimmering of the Massive trophy as Dennis proudly held it aloft will be etched in my memory forever!.. Nobody can take this away from this club ever no matter how hard they try to belittle us (are you listening Whelan, Holloway & all the others who enjoy sticking the boot into this club)

Yeah - was there and what a night that was - villa fans in full voice from start to finish - outsang the Bayern fans. The highlight of my 50 years of supporting Villa without a doubt. That team took time to build and it ruled Europe.

It was about 9pm on that balmy night in Rotterdam when Withe hit that screamer into the net from fully 4 yards and a team of men, who were already legends, became immortalised in folklore. Wherever you maybe at 9pm tonight raise a glass to the greatest goal and proudest moment in Villa history.

My old man said I couldn't go..I was 15, I'd bought a ticket...I climbed out my bedroom window...met up with my mate and lived the greatest moment any Villa fan could wish for....will stay with me for the rest of my life.

What a great couple of days!! Where have all the years gone? I was there, was out of work at the time and should have 'signed on' on the day of the game. Coach from Villa Park to Dover, Ferry to Calais and then coach through France, Belgium and into Holland. Can't remember too much, remember the Bayern fans taunting us before the game with chants of 'Argentina' (Falklands), remember wishing the players hadn't swapped shirts until after they received the cup like Dennis, remember seeing some of the players (including Peter Withe) afterwards, drinking water so they could give urine samples (or is that a dream?). And still I cry when I see that goal!!! If only my sons had been a few years older so we could have shared that experience. BLWOW
