I believe Lambert is staying with us... whether he's turned Villa down or been overlooked I'm not so sure.

He's going to be in a great frame of mind if we come knocking isn't he! Rightly or wrongly will he feel like 2nd choice and would he want to come because of that?

Cagey responses to probing questions? Lambert's on his way to B6 then. He was my original preference before OGS's name was mentioned. Must admit I got a little swept away with the idea of the Baby Faced Tactician in charge at VP. Now the hyperbole and Twitter inferences have subsided and Lambert re-emerges as the bookies' favourite, the thought of appointing the scot will now feel like a consolation prize to some. Fuzzy logic.

oxfordspur why are you on this site every day, on every article? Noone has turned us down, OGS isn't coming because of family reasons not because he doesn't want to manage us. Channel 5 awaits you!

oxfordspur has a point though. Martinez turned us down last season and now OSG has said he does not want to be considered. What does this say about our club?

Martinez had already given his word to Whelan. A man of his word is what that situation says about him. The fact it came out in public shows what a big mouth Whelan is. Says nothing (to me) about Villa

Ole situation says that a) we hadn't offered him b) we prob werent going to c) he needed to do face saving for Molde/and or his wife/kids are settled and he decided he didn't want to be in the reckoning IF he was... Again, doesnt' say anything bad about our club at all. He is living in his hometown, he is bringing his kids up there, his wife is happy there, they look out on a lake etc. He is worth 10m and so doesnt' need to work anyway but also maybe he realised this was a big job for one so inexperienced?

Again, he wasn't offered anything to turn down, he just came over for a first conversation. All my humble opinion!

I think the fact that OGS' house and his office both overlook a fjord may have swing it. Fjord and snow capped mountains or The Aston Expressway!?!?! Tricky one that....! ;)

Lazy journos again. Can't report on facts so they pester a guy and wind himup. Then we're supposed to approach him (hopefully). Or is he alsofrustrated because he hasn't been interviewed yet. Either case, what the hell has been going on today?.......

Lambert has got his knickers in a twist simply cos the questions about the interest from Villa are difficult for him, he can not say yes i want the job but he does not want to say no if you catch my drift? He is simply awaiting an offer IMO

We should finish ahead of Spurs this season again and the normality is resumed once they sell their only 2 good players ( or have to return them to the people that pay 2/3 of their wages which is still criminal and a large reason that they finished as high as they did.) They'll get more TV monies playing on Sunday EVERY week but only because they'll be playing in deepest eastern european wilderness on Thursdays. I can see why Ox isn't a happy chappy.

Managers of Wigan and Molde turned us down so please don`t ask this geezer..we can`t look any dafter can we? Would love PL but have no faith in the pair of plonkers at the top getting the right man in whatsoever.

Think we need to putthings into perspective, undersatnding (but I'm often wrong) is that OGS was one of a few on the shortlist...with social media and protective powerful sponsors (Rokke) or big mouth publicity seeking chairmen (Whelan) it is now virtually impossible to go about appointing without the "he wants the job/He doesnt wnat the job/He turned us down cos we're rubbish" conjecture. The days of contacting a club for permisiion , negotiating and getting it done seem to be in the past....unless this is a Villa disease. I fully expect Mad Mick to be at Bodymoor next.
