King Carlos Wants To Stay In The Premier League

King Carlos Wants To Stay In The Premier League

A snippet on http://www1.skysports.com quotes Carlos Cuellar as saying he is looking to stay in England if he can.

Looks like King Carlos hasn`t current got a new deal with any club but the 30-year-old Spanish defender wants to stay.

Apparently O`Neill wants him for Sunderland.

'I would like to stay in England. There are always a lot of rumours about other teams and other countries. I love the football, I love the people and I love the country. My best option is to stay in this country."

Would be nice if he could come back to Villa. Ifnot, I wish him well wherever.

I assume he is part of the clubs cost cutting in being allowed to leave on a free? it seems that Villa fans still like and rate him, so surely this is another negative step in allowing the player to walk? or have I missed something?

Shame that it took him so long to come good. If he'd been here longer then he'd have made a legendary defender but his distribution was as bad as nige's when he first started but then again, he wasn't afforded hundreds of games to get it right like some others. Good luck to him regardless!!

never really broke in as a first choice regular and his contract ran out basically Ox... so not something you can slate our board about ! ;o) Just because we like him doese't mean we should make the choice who stays and who goes! If so, Dunne and Collins would be out on their ears and Carlos would stay for me!

What me slate anyone??? I assume he was on decent money, so in fairness if he leaves it saves money and also allows for new faces. from an outside perspective, I have never been massively impressed with him and have always rated both Collins and Dunne as far better defenders. I always blames a one paced and average Villa midfield for putting two decent defenders under too much pressure, that them not being good enough

Always looked a bit of liability in the centre for me but seems a nice guy so wish him well. Funny if MON does buy him after bringing him to Villa and leaving him on the bench or playing him at right back.

Always gave his best but you have to ask why under 3 separate managers he never managed to establish himself as a regular. That said he was my favourite defender and compared to Dunne and Collins he has shown way more passion and love for the club than those two clowns have ever done.
