As the title says really: Daily Mail Say Villa Have Spoken To Martinez

Neil Moxley at www.dailymail.co.uk has an interesting article this morning. Apparently Ole Gunnar Solskjaer flew back into a bit of a storm in Norway as his current club Molde (and former Wimbledon) owners (or major investors at least) weren`t too happy that he`d jetted off without their permission to talk to Villa. Martin Laursen: I have been following the goings-on at Villa with great interest over the past few days. I read the comments of the board following the departure of Alex McLeish concerning their desire to bring in a manager to add vibrancy to the club. I wholeheartedly agree with that approach. They have that spot on, definitely. I believe the key is to bring someone in who will get the fans right behind the club again. Aston Villa have released a brief statement following the speculation and confirmation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a person of interest in the press. The statement on the Official Site reads as follows: Club Statement On Manager Search

As Villa step up their pursuit of a new manager, it has possibly escaped many people's notice that it's exactly 25 years today since the club made one of their most important appointments on the modern era. On May 18 1987, Graham Taylor departed his 'job for life' at Watford, leaving behind chairman Elton John to follow the Yellow Brick Road to Villa Park. Rob Bishop text chat with Petrov:

Stan: We'll see.
Rob: It's a good job I like you or you'd drive me crazy.
Stan: It's a good job I like you otherwise you'd be in trouble. You're a lucky, lucky man.
Stan: You will miss me when I eventually leave Villa.
Rob: I will retire when you leave Villa.
Stan: No. No. No. No. Don't do that. Full blog: Blog: Petrov text message humour evidence of super spirit
