Paul Lambert Set For Villa Talks Next?

Danny Fullbrook has a report in The Daily Star claiming that Villa have approached Norwich to talk to their manager Paul Lambert and that he will hold talks with us on Monday.

Bet they all wished this could just be played out in private. If he had talks and then wasn`t selected, it doesn`t look good for him at Norwich does it?!

Norwich have already said they won`t welcome any approaches but we all know it depends on what the managers (and in other cases players) want, not what clubs say or indeed what contracts say.

another sensible one to look at. Having read and listened more about him recently, he does look an outstanding shout.

Again mate, "of selected". If randy's offer is more cutbacks and the rumored low ceiling on wages then I'm sure he will tell us where to go.

he's scottish so no thanks - he's a MON clone so no thanks. just plain uninspiring appointment. a shed load of league 1 players coming into villa - does that sound exciting? to me absolutely not. I'm against this appointment if it happens

I dont think this OGS deal is over yet and i just put a 1.00 on AVB At 40/1 as he's out of contract and looking to prove he can cut it in the EPL could be 4 or 5 in the mix for the job

marshyboy - I cant see it in a million years, but if AVB is appointed I hope Dunne & Collins are sold immediately. JT couldn't cope with AVB's tactics ffs, Dunne & Collins' brains would implode at the thought of a high defensive line!

As for Lambert, he's probably my top choice. Martinez and Solskjaer play better football but Norwich are better balanced and still play some good football. And of the three I'd trust him most with our current squad AND trust him most with a relatively small budget... if he'd be willing to come for a small budget.

Wouldn't mind him at all, like the idea of OGS and think he could come good, bit of a roller-coaster but a time with it.We will see but my money is still on OGS.

I agree with lurman. Lambert is my first choice too, though OGS is still there too. Still don't want Martinez after he turned us down last year.

Its in the Star ffs. Norwich haven't said anything and neither have the Villa, until there's evidence like Lambert being snapped at VP or bodymoor, or Lerner being photo'd in Norwich its just rumour.

Lambert ok but why not embark on an adventure ! we've endured dull for too long. Not saying Lambert is dull but I can see something in OGS that just makes me think just maybe this guy is the breath of fresh air we need. If done properly I have a feeling it could be a reVILLAtion

my two picks are Solskjaer and Lambert but for differing reasons - Lambert has shown he can bring teams on, get them into the PL and actually flourish playing attacking football OGS is really unproven which worries me, but manager appointments are always a risk - a manager who is great at one club isnt always great at another and vice versa - but he has charisma, legend status and he will draw players to Villa who we ( and Lambert ) would never have a hope of getting otherwise

I will be really disapointed if we don't get OGS now. As i said on the OGS Press Conference & Bits feed .... I think you can see it in his eyes that he knows he has got the job ... he really looks that confident .... the eyes don't lie. If by some miracle we don't get him ... it will always be what if .... especially if he makes it big else where ... I remember us coming close to getting Lampard, Gregory making a bid for Shearer .... This is our time and I hope Learner recognizes his potential... and where he could put our team in a few year ..... No other canidate comes close... Id rather have OGS than Roberto from Chelsea right now .... Think I'm in Love Guys - lol .... Don't tell the wife !!!!

nO DOUBT ABOUT IT Ole Gunnar is the man he can bring in Rio as his coach too our next King Paul McGrath. Ole Gunnar fits the bill perfect forget Lambert. He unites both camps those who wanted Mon part 2 Lambet and the likes of my self who prefer attractive possession based football who preferred Martinez. Interviews over get Ole Gunnar
