Villa's TV And Merit Payments For 2011/2012

Just found the payments table for Premier League clubs for the 2011/12 season.

forum

Villa generated:

Shared revenue (equal PL share) 13 788 093
Facility fees: 5 776 662
Merit payment: 3 775 310
Overseas tv: 18 764 644

Total...42 104 709

16th in the money, due to the merit payments which obviously with our finish are down.

With a nod to www.footballtransfertavern.com where I saw the table and to www.sportingintelligence.com who they got the table from! LOL

an extraordinary amount of money, almost obscene! (for every club)

We and therefore Randy are very lucky that the money is split equally unlike Spain and others. It's generous to give us any money under Eck this year as we've been close to unwatchable. 14.05.12 is almost as important as that day in 1982 in Villa's history.

What the heck are facility fees? Why are ours so low, lower than blackburns?

I think facility fees are the payments for hosting a televised game - you get paid it if SKY televise a home game.

Never even heard of facility fees before. Ridiculous sums to be honest.

And that's the reason we rarely kick off at 3pm on a Saturday!........

Actually, we were 17th in the money table.

'Merit' fees for Villa games last season? I must be using the wrong dictionary.
