So many at 20/1 indicates the bookies have not got a clue. Slaven Billic just agreed yesterday to become Spartack Moscow boss and yet he is a 25/1 shot! Clueless

i was worried about bookies odds but it shows by putting mick mccarthy as a fav is just stupid.. complete money making scheme

I know that there is no chance of getting villas-boas, but it would be good to know that villa would make an approach for him at least to signal their intent on getting a good young hungry manager, can't deal with hearing more about McCarthy nearly cried when i woke up and saw his odds first thing this morning.

villa should prosecute the bookies for putting mccarthy as a favourite because it's a sick joke

The reason the bookies put Mcarthy as fave is they know some fans or betting folk would look at the last appointment and think the Villa board will appoint another Midlands manager same style etc i take this with a pinch of salt... Lambert or Rodgers are realistic and would do well here building team for the future and playing attacking entertaining football along the way..

its an insult to even put mccarthy on the list - never mind as a fav!!!!! makes me feel sick

Talking to a Swansea season ticket holder today at work, and apparently Brendan Rodger has got a 5 million buy out clause in his contract so that option looks unlikely. Shame, would be my choice. HH2 is right, the bookies know nothing on these things. The 2 candidates that have been backed on the exchanges today are Kevin MacDonald & Simon Grayson.

Martinez to Liverpool, Lambert to Villa. Does anyone know if anything was said about getting this done before the Euros? It would only make sense.

Remember the bookies are not in the business of making predictions, they simply set odds that they hope will be profitable. If a 1,000 people put money on Margaret Thatcher as the next England manager they would shorten the odds - just in case!

Bad news about Dalglish. 1. candidates worth anything would probably choose Liverpool over Villa and 2. the unthinkable outcome is Dalglish at Villa. No. Please don't do it Mr Lerner.

Bobs Villa, why have we no chance of getting AVB? he would be a great choice, won at the very highest level in club football, great at developing young sides and has a point to prove, he is also a free agent so no compensation pay-offs.......he has my vote all day long, and is what Randy should be looking for in the next manager! Totally agree JF, but as i'm not a xmas kind of bloke i would liken it to the morning of a wembley final - the excitement is unbearable! lol

I reeeeeeeally hope we sign someone in the next day or so, the Liverpool thing has made it harder. Randy needs to go hard for his man ASAP and make it count. Also I'd pay 5mil to get Rodgers, better value than any player, he's a class act and could stay for 10years.

I would love Ian Holloway. I think he'd be worth for the press conferences alone ;-) Plus he gets his teams playing the right way and with passion! Which is exactly what we need right now. Personally I don't think AVB will come but you never know...
