Villa's board needs to appoint someone decisively

McLeish had a reputation for setting up defensive teams and he took his confidence-sapping pub-team mentality and placed it upon the shoulders of a good team built by Martin O'Neill.

Villa fan and talkSPORT presenter, Jonny Gould describes the summer of frantic manoeuvres which threatened the very top-flight status of our fine football club.

He hopes that the swift decisiveness which ended Eck's ill-fated year in charge will continue with the unveiling of a new manager to give the club a totally fresh impetus.

all this speculation but no firm favourite i still feel lerner will go for someone who's not in a contract to save the pennies so the could include mad mick or curbs etc

I can't understand why Curbs is mentioned - same as last year. He's been out of football management for a few years now.

Do you really think they would go for a manager who only just got a local rival relegated for the second season in a row!!?? Give them some credit... Surely not... Gulp! ;)

no way will they let us down this time. Young and hungry is what the press say and I'm very confident they are right. Very confident.

Someone suggest to Villas PR DEPT to announce we are interviewing a shortlist of candidates and then announce our descision after the deal is done. Rather than suffer the embarresment of last years shambles.
