Aston Villa Press Transfer Talk!

Aston Villa Press Transfer Talk!

Pretty sure the transfer talk at the moment is wide of the mark as I think that Alex McLeish will be on his bike.

The Birmingham Mail say that Paul Faulkner has been in USA this week with Randy Lerner and they both fly back to face showdown talks with McLeish next week.

Only one thing to say after this season one would assume. No matter what Sir Alex Chewalot says - and if he likes Eck that much, maybe be could make way for him at Man Utd? - the game is all about results and we`ve not got the results to warrant keeping him.

Anyway, just for completeness, we have some transfer links.

The Sun say Villa are after Leon Best and Danny Simpson from Newcastle United.

Apparently Simpson has angered the Toon by not agreeing a new deal and Best has fallen down the pecking order.

The Telegraph have similar but they have added midfielder Danny Guthrie into the mix. He is available on a Bosman.

Tell you one I`d still take a 'gamble` on is Jermain Defoe from Spurs who was linked with Reading today!

The only thing I am interested in is When will he go! Don't let him waste the money please. you only have to look at is great signing Hutton the worst fullback i have seen ina long time. Hutton and AM are well suited. Fans don't want is style or lack of it here.

Wow Leon Best and Danny Simpson ! Fingers crossed Mcleish keeps his job and then we roll out our marque signing Henry (from Wolves) along with a winger we've never heard of from Australia who played in the Dutch league. If this is the team Eck wants to build and not hide behind anymore then we are *****ed yet again lads. To think as bad as people thought Houliier was he had a player called Cabaye lined up with Kallstrom.

Has he gone yet?
12/05/2012 20:16:00
Briann11 mate Brett Holman will surprise you. Hard working and skillful. He's also not scared of having the occasional crack at goal and has scored some pearlers.
13/05/2012 00:43:00
You and me both ShaneBlack. I'm not interested in who Idiot wants to sign, I want him gone. Then we can get a REAL manager in, and he can aim for his own players to be brought in. It looks like Laurel & Hardy are ready to meet Idiot next week, so have your champagne on ice folks........

For once can this club not sign JUST british players FFS, thereis no value in signing all british players, ok Simpson is decent but im sick of this club staying in the dark ages with its scouting systems where other clubs like Newcastle sign bargains like Cabaye Tiote Swansea sign Vorm Sigurdsson Baggies got Odemwingie for peanuts and Villa always end up signing british players who just aint good enough and demand more! P.S EFF OFF Mclesih
13/05/2012 11:30:00
At least, we've signed Holman, Clive! Hope at last!!
13/05/2012 12:09:00
Villa playing 7 defenders today,
13/05/2012 14:28:00
doesnt matter now with Mcleish gone nothing will occur till new manager is in place. But if I had to pick a bargain Hoillet who reading are after for 5 mill would be a good start.
