McLeish Backs Delph To Impress

Alex McLeish has backed injury ravaged Fabian Delph to come back fighting next season after returning to training following his most recent injury.

Speaking to the Official Site McLeish said that Delph had all the qualities necessary to be a top player in the Premier League and he doesn't believe we have seen the best of him yet.

'When I saw Delphy get back in training with the group a few weeks ago it was as sharp and as powerful as I've seen him. We do need to be careful with him, but I think he needs a lucky break. He's had some traumatic years, he came here as a big potential star and the Premier League has not seen the best of him yet.'

To be honest he best thing really seems to be get him back fit and then get him a loan spell for 3 months so he can have some solid game time and get his confidence up. If he's going to make up for lost time he needs to be on the pitch, not stuck on the bench.

Fans seem torn on him, but there is a player in there we just need to get (and keep) him fit and get his confidence up.

Same old PR about 'Delphy'. Bored of hearing about him to be honest. He gives the ball away far too much and he's injured 80% of the time. Scrap heaps a calling!
Timmsy
Seems MON was right about him and his potential to pick up injuries with the way he plays.
Ams78
thought he'd already come back fighting judging by Gatecrasher

If Mcleish rates him he's finished or he'll play him up front, what's more upsetting is Mcleish raring to go for next season.

***** off Delph you are not wanted you crock.
Green Villan
He does seem to be injured far too often. And when he was in the team at the beginning of the season, he didn't impress me too much. If Idiot rates him, take him wherever you're off to next Idiot!
Pride of Lions
Who cares what you think McMuppet? You are out of work next week.
voiceoftheholte
briann11 - impossible because mcleish doesn't play anyone up front!
thorpyuk
harsh that Green, I'd much rather he was able to find his form and be part of our team for years go come. His injury was serious and so maybe it has just taken a lot longer to fully get over. Also hard to judge any player judged on this awful season!
The Fear
.... also, think people do forget these are human beings we are talking about, and some of them are very nice lads!
The Fear
He doesn't choose to get injured and normally it's because he's giving 110% unlike many others. Potential is there but his contract probably runs out next year and he'll go elsewhere and be amazing after another year of injuries. Saying that, he got injured first under MON for trying too hard. Since he came back, he's had minor injuries along with every other player under GH and Eck working them too much.

has anyone asked the question why he and the rest of the 1st team were injured. could it possibly be the training techniques employed by eck??? i seem to remember a similar story at the sty down the road that his methods in training were crippling their squad. . . just putting it out there not just delph but most of the team seem to have suffered his majical ways even at bodymore heath. is there anything that is mc***** proof?
