Fewest Wins For Survival? Villa Not There!

Martin. I was looking at the Premier League table and noticed that Aston Villa are safe, despite only winning seven matches (so far). Has anybody ever won fewer games than this and survived? Also, QPR and Bolton have won 10 games each and could still go down. What's the most wins from a relegated side? Mark (Aston Villa fan)
The answer:
In the history of the Premier League we have only seen one side win fewer games than Aston Villa have this season and still retain their top-flight status. That was the West Brom side of 2004/05, which only managed six wins all season and yet climbed out of the relegation zone on the final day to finish 17th with 34 points. If Aston Villa fail to beat Norwich on Sunday then they will become the second team in Premier League history to survive with less than eight wins.

Has no one noticed that wolves have only won 5 this season? Plus if we finish with 7 wins in total, that makes us the third lowest in the history. Oh and the fact that the 3 biggest clubs in the west will have the title for the 3 fewest wins in prem history.

I think Idiot was hoping for fewest wins and actually going down, but he missed out on that one, as somehow we managed to stay up!.......

Agent McLeish your job is done. After leaving Rangers in third position, you have relegated Small Heath twice with no chance of a quick return. In fact your job was so well done they are likely to enter administration in the coming days. You reduced our wage bill and kept us up whilst uniting the Villa fan base and opening our eyes to just how bad football can be. Thank you for your time and effort.
