Alex - WHERE Is Your Dignity

Alex - WHERE Is Your Dignity

Right, the final look at Alex`s comments from yesterday.

We`ve had: Alex Has NOT Taken The Weight This Season

And: Alex Knew We Were Bottom Table Material?

Now I`ll finish with the other quote that really got my goat. Not the one about planning to be here next season and looking at building on the squad, that just made me feel sick and gave me a cold sweat... this one:

'I'd expect to be here next season and hope to win over the dissenting Villa fans. But I need to get a consistent team on the pitch. I think the Villa fans in general have been excellent. I met some nice people at the dinner the other night. I felt the guys were genuine, they knew what I was working with."

So some fans have been genuine because they believe in him? They 'know what he is working with?`

I`ve done it before, so I`m not going to go all through our squad again. With proper management, we are NOT short of international players, we also have some great 'kids` some of whom have represented their countries at the different youth levels as well as having played under MON and Houllier.

mcleish and grant

Alex, you can`t win over the dissenting fans. The bile, the hatred, the outright abuse (which to be fair, I struggle with, hence if he stays next season, I might have to re-think going, I can`t take all this stress, negativity, nastiness and the bile and anger. I can understand it, but normal life is a struggle enough, this is meant to be the fun part. Trouble is, even as I type this, I know I`m not going to be able to just not go... what a mug... same as many who just can`t walk away!) .... it is just not healthy for a Club, not for the players, not for the manager and most especially not for us the fans.

Lets be honest, the forums, the pub discussions, the games have been a pure bloody misery this season. The anti-football and negativity was expected, we tried to rally but we got what Alex McLeish says on the tin, awful football and the finger of blame anywhere away from him.

The press still don`t get it, they think it is because he is a blue nose, it isn`t, it is because he wasn`t good enough for the Blues. If he`s not good enough for them, then how in the hell can he be good enough for a club our size?

You don`t win over the 'dissenting fans` (90% at least by the way) playing that sort of football, parking the bus at Spurs, not trying at Man Utd, waving the white flag v Liverpool, failing v teams we should beat in our sleep... etc etc) OR by producing the most embarrassing statistic of all, our all time worst ever home form.

How embarrassing.

And yet the 'genuine` fans understand Alex?

Do they?

Are we not genuine then? I`ve paid my money, I`ve gone down in all weathers, as have thousands of you. There are fans all over the world that tune into sites like this every day to talk about their love, their passion. Are they not genuine? Those left baffled on the long journeys home from away games after yet another no show, are they not genuine?

You`ve been working with international players, bright hopes and experience pro`s. THAT SIR is what you have been working with. You have left them devoid of confidence, without shape and totally fed up and embarrassed that they (and we the fans) have had to be looking at other Clubs results to keep us up.

I`ve had so many communications yesterday and today 'DO SOMETHING` to try to get this clown gone (and yes, that is the first time I`ve used a playground name I think!) but we the fans shouldn`t have to do anything. Nor should the board. Alex should have tendered his resignation.

Alex, for the third time, where is your dignity?

Problem is: do you go for dignity or do you go for £4m? Not so difficult when you look at it that way.

35 years of going down Villa Park and Ive vowed not to go again. Im done with it. There is a poisonous streak running throughout the whole club from the owner, the board, the manager, the players and the fans. Its an inconvenience to me now and I can be doing a lot of other things at weekends that I know I will get enjoyment from and where I am not treated as a voiceless number cash cow. Well done Randy et el, youve lost me for good. A word to the wise though - by all means get rid of AMc but be careful what you wish for with Randy we might just end up on the Coventry path.

Good news is his hairline has receded a lot more since he has been here. At least we get the last laugh in the end.

Silent bob. I sense it too and it stinks. Our club is rotting and the cancer is Lerner.

The man has no dignity or class. I will never set foot inside Villa Park again while he is the manager. Such a shame the club seem to value him more than they do any of us

Three excellent articles there JF. I can see your blood is starting the boil mate. Problem is, as Silent-Bob says, the poisonous streak is running through the club, starting at the top! We are on a slippery slope and yesterday just delayed the inevitable for one season.

Mcleish has never had any integrity, . Look at how he has behaved at his previous clubs. He'll be at VP next season for sure. Everyone who is not renewing or staying away must make sure the club the club knows why. Send in a letter explaining or the club will come up with some other excuse

I really don't understand our fans at all, I have supported and followed Villa for 40 years, when are we going to understand we are not a big club or a rich club or have any right to be successful any more, Oneil spent millions trying and failed, yes he failed we didn't win anything, now the
