Weimann's Season Over

Fair enough there's only one game left for us to draw this year, but Andi Weimann will have six weeks on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury today.

forum

Speaking to the Official Site after the game, McLeish said it was likely that Weimann had injured his medial ligaments in his knee after clashing with Brad Friedel and there was no chance that he would play a part against Norwich in the season closer:

'He looks like he's damaged his medial ligament. His season is over. That type of injury means it will be the good part of six weeks recuperation for him.'

In our other post Spurs injury news, McLeish said Hutton and Heskey should be in contention for the Canaries clash but they will be subject to late fitness tests:

'I don't know how bad Emile is, he led the line well. He deserves credit for upsetting the Spurs rearguard. We were much more aggressive in the business end of the field in the first half. It's alright playing pretty football but you need crosses into the box. Emile held it up well.'

What exactly has Heskey got to do with N'Zogbia, amongst others, being unable to beat the first man?

And whilst this may shock Alex, you can play pretty football and still be effective in the goalmouth!

Anyway, I'm starting to ramble:

'With Emile, it's his instep. I think he's hurt his ankle, we will assess him tomorrow. Alan is probably a badly bruised shin but I don't think it's anything worse than that.

Gabby and the surprising case of bruised ribs is also expected to be fit for Norwich.

Don't know which team you've been watching apache but we were a different team when heskey went off. we didn't win any of the balls distributed by given, the ball was just kicked up field blindly and straight to spurs. all season he has been an asset to the team in holding the ball and combined with weimann would provide the service to actually score goals! (remember them?). would rather pay 45k a week for king carlos than keep mceckscuse!!! cant he be done under trade descriptions cos he keeps saying he's a manager;)

Andreas will come back next season stronger for his experience this season. Can't say the same for Emule though he did ok in the last 2-3 matches.

We don't want to play this way anymore regardless of whether Heskey suits the shocking hoofball tactics.
