McLeish Out Day Details And Poster

The boring bit.... Vital Villa is neither pro or anti protests. We aren`t the ones organising it. Vital is an open site to all views.

From Chris at the McLeishout campaign:

Here is an outline for the Day:
Flyers will be available from all around the ground from 11.00am onwards.
Protest will be begin at 1pm. Trinity Road, near the McGregor Statue.
As part of the organised McLeish Out Day protest we suggest to hold your flyers up when McLeish emerges from the tunnel and also at full time.
We propose that fans remain for the 'lap of honour' and make their feelings known about McLeish remaining as manager.
This is our last chance to make ourselves heard, we can not endure another season like this.
For 90 minutes we will be behind the lads 100% as always and will do our best to roar them on to victory. These protests are aimed solely at one man.

We all want want is best for Aston Villa, and one thing most of us can agree on is Alex Mcleish is not the man to take this club forward

Great flyer - really highlights why we want him gone and gone quickly! Surely the board wouldn't be stupid enough to keep him on for another season? Would they? Don't think they would be forgiven for another season of this dross served up by this clown. mcleish has to go...

I feel sorry for him a bit lol. The protest is one thing, but no need to print up posters like he is a wanted rapist or something.

yam getting soft in your old age lerneravfc! Must admit, I hate these things, I see the point of it totally, this has been an awful season, just wish he'd walked earlier when it was clear it wasn't working, horrible thing to face protests, I know, half of you lot have tried to get me off this site! LOL

lol i just think holding up those posters is aimed at humilating the guy rather than making the point. I agree with the protests though.

Its very sad that we have to go through this again. Its good to clearly point out the reasons, but we REALLY shouldn't have to. Our owner should have seen this for himself and acted accordingly a couple of months ago.

He is what he is a very poor Manager, this is not personal after all he is on 2mil a year. I think the posters are great and to the point. COTVABU

I agree: Fear out! Not sure I agree with lerneravfc that is humiliation, the posyter is a statement of fact, its not a personal statement. That said, there is an assumption in all this that unless the fans protest, the board won't act. That may not be true. I still think though that just maybe from the board's position, there is a feeling that McLeish will have achieved what was asked from him by keeping Villa in the PL. That COULD have been the only objective he was given, based on the sales, cuts etc. We don't know. There could be a lot of guilt in the boardroom if that was the case. We don't know because no-one tells us a thing and THAT is what is really wrong here. I have no problem with the chairman being a press recluse for personal reasons. But we have a CEO too. Where is he? Even Goldman Sachs, the big US bank are just advertising for a social media person to try and offset the bad publicity they get. Villa is a small business with a big fan base, surely someone could be talking to us?

Its nothing personal at all, and its not about humilating him. It is about highlighting how poor he has been as manager and that we want him out

Well done to the organisers. Whether people agree or disagree with the protest, it has been done by Villa fans that are passionate about our club. It is very easy to sit and do nothing. It takes time effort and commitment to stand up for what you believe. And for those who disagree with the protests and the banners, you have all had the same opportunity to do the same in support of the manager, but have chosen not to. Personally I back it 110%. Support the team throughout the game, but use every available moment before and after just to finally ensure that the only time McMuppet ever steps foot inside our ground again, is as the manager of a lower league club lucky enough to draw us in a cup. Do not be afraid to voice your opinions. It is our club. Be loud and be proud. We are The Villa. The 19th Minute. Prepared.

Excellent flyer - Good work! All I hope is that enough Villa supporters back this protest. If they don't they obviously don't care for the future of our club. Personally, I am sick and tired of so called Villa supporters who can't differenciate between supporting the team 100% during match and doing something constructive before and after the match. Sometimes I despair at some so called Villa supporters.......

I have to agree its not humiliating, whether or not your for the protest, its a very focused poster

So if I don't back a protest BEFORE a very important match I don't care for the club? And I'm a "so called" Villa supporter! I do a 300 mile round trip to every home game, so my response is not suitable for the front page, needless to say I would like you to make your out of order comments nice and spiky and shove them where the sun don't shine, you ******* **** ****. Before a match never! This type of action BEFORE a match effects the mood of the crowd and that is transferred to the players, you are sabotaging your own team with that behaviour, but I wouldn't expect anything less from the knee jerk brigade, AFTER the match I'm with you all the way, but never before or during, is the hatred so blinding that people can't see this?

Well done boys and good luck!! If I could I would be there with you!! I think he's gone anyway but lets make extra sure with this protest, McLeish always goes on about how hard he is so if he takes it personally that's his issue. Ginger cloud is leaving Villa Park, can't wait to see the light again

Now ain't that a sign of the times, when a "grassroots" protest is sponsored by a business. It says it all really.

I'd like to say that I agree that he should go but that he is a thoroughly decent bloke at the same time which makes it difficult.

This is not an issue about the personality of McLeish, it is a question of his competence as the manager of a premier league football team and that is clearly lacking. My guess is that the only reason he is staying is his Terms of Employment. If he quits he gets nothing, if he gets sacked then he has a big redunancy payout Me? I would sack him on the grounds of lack of competence and let him fight for his cash. We could prove lack of competence easily at any tribunal.
