Now he's closer to fitness he's back in the press, and Richard Dunne has admitted the players are ashamed of our league position. Clearly we only need to look at the performances of the team as the season has gone on to confirm that - they've been right there caring haven't they...oh no, sorry my mistake. The heart and the fight has mostly come from the youngsters whilst the seniors carried on letting us down. But credit where it's due I suppose, with possible relegation clauses kicking in if we go down it's nice to know they care now. Full article: Dunne - Players Ashamed Of League Position

So here we go, McLeish hasn`t gone yet, but we have our first new manager link: Next Manager Links Begin - Paul Lambert?
Following the cancellation of the second string's final match of the season against Fulham, a new date has now been set. The re-arranged game will take place on May 2, at 2pm at Fulham's Motspur Park training ground. The match will now be a behind closed doors affair, so hopefully AVTV will arrange for it to be screened again so fans can watch our winners end the season in style.

Villa are backing two leading charities in the fight against Leukaemia. Villa's community relations team and AVTV spent time with research expert Professor Charles Craddock and were shown around the Centre for Clinical Haematology at the QE. Professor Craddock is a medical director at Anthony Nolan Trust and also works closely with Cure Leukaemia. Full article: Villa In Leukaemia Support Drive
Turkish Penguin: Following on from my last piece, permit me to present an argument that appears more positive than the ones we`ve been having of late. Pretty soon I believe the poisoned chalice will be put down once more ready to take the next man. I also believe that the next man I propose has the antidote.... Return of The Mac
Turkish Penguin: I believe if we are beaten at West Brom, Alex McLeish will no longer remain as Aston Villa manager. I know we had the 'vote of confidence' statement from the board saying that the manager and players need our support, but I don`t believe that Mr. Lerner and Mr. Faulkner would risk the increasingly potent threat of being relegated if we don`t pick up a point at the least on Saturday. If they do, they`ll be playing a very dangerous and expensive game. Full article: Naivety and Arrogance
