Next Manager Links Begin - Paul Lambert?

The Sun have an exclusive by Charlie Wyett saying that Aston Villa are looking at Norwich boss Paul Lambert as a possible replacement for the current incumbent Alex McLeish.

Safety or not, the Club will review McLeish`s tenure at the end of the season, having backed him for the remaining three games v WBA, Spurs and Norwich.

I think the conclusion from the Sun that draw isn`t unreasonable after just one win in 13! lol Actually, scrub the lol, it isn`t funny!

The report says Norwich would fight to keep Lambert but if he left, they`d turn to either Malky Mackay or Chris Hughton.

Must admit, what with me being a genius and all, I said we should have had Hughton last year. What a shame we didn`t eh?!

Funnily enough, a Norwich fan came into 100% Villa forum saying that people their end were scared that Villa were coming in for Lambert. See: Click Here

celtic roots check, glasses check, polo shirt underneath sweatshirt check. Steely eyes check, yep, lambert is villa Messiah mark 2.
lerneravfc
why would he want to leave Norwich to manage in the championship?
AVbornandbred
Exactly AVB&B... Why!
nottinghamvillain
this is the thing, if we survive they might keep eck. If we don`t someone like lambert won`t come here.
lerneravfc
We are reminded now and again that after taking advise within the game Randy Lerner appointed Mcleish.Well whoever it was that gave that advise Randy is going to cost you a huge amount of money if this club is relegated. The next man in is going to have a hard job whoever is appointed and just to prove the press wrong I am betting that many like myself would not mind Chris Hughton thought he was a good bet last year. Others including Lambert I am sure would do a decent job.

I think if we approached Lambert it would be like Martinez last year, he won't leave Norwich yet. He has taken them very far and I believe he'd think he has unfinished business. Martinez is the best bet, I think he will be looking for a new challenge, he probably told Whelan one more season to give him time to plan. Also I think Randy would respect Martinez' decision to stick at Wigan a last summer therefore offer him again. And because you should always have a backup I'd have Poyet

Lambert Martinez or the tea lady dont care now just get Mcmuppet out!!!!!!
astonsteve
Can we secretly employ Lambert in 2 weeks time so he can start by playing a team of 6 against us with maybe Grant Holt in nets? If you want the job Paul then please dont send us down!!
Chelt Villan
lol Chelt nice angle but I wouldnt bet on us scoring even then Mcleish would play 10 back in case Holty dribbles out of his area.
Merlin128777
its a cunning plan to stop us going down ,,,we should offer the job to the managers of wba and spuds just in case.......19
paul muldrew
Heard the Holman deal is now dead? McLEish on his way??
bentonm
Don't see why Lambert wouldn't come here, his Colchester side just hammered Norwich 7-1 and straight after he joined Norwich. If a bigger club comes calling he'll jump at it.
Stephen Jay Hawkings
bentonm, where did you hear the Holman deal was dead? That would just about confirm it.
Stephen Jay Hawkings
Thought Holman already signed pre contract deal!!!!!!
astonsteve
Been calling for Lambert ever since MoN left.
SchoolBoyError
Where are all these rumors about Holman coming from?? On the point of Lambert, he would be the perfect appointment as far as i'm concerned.
VILLA 4 LIFE
Many of us Vital Villans have been saying in the forums Lambert is the man who would do a good job and get us firing again, Lambert Rodgers i don't mind maybe Laursen LionHeart in a few years
ClivetheVillan
TOO LITTLE TOO LATE MR LERNER. NOBODY EVER LISTENS DO THEY?IF HE HAD NOTICED THE 'MCLEISH NOT WANTED' POSTERS AT THE START OF THE SEASON, MAYBE WE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IN THIS SITUATION. MEH.
Picture
It so bad with flippin eck in charge even Avram Grant looks like a godsend.
Randy bollox
Its very simple really in the Boardroom immediately after the game at Carrow Road Fatty Faulkner must ignore the lure of Delia's cup cakes , wake up "Reclusive Randy" and refuse to leave until Lambert signs on the dotted line. Then a la Abramovich and Ancelotti (I think it was), let Eck find his way back to Brum to pack his stuff whilst Sid and KMac tear the ***** out of the underperforming overpaid prima donnas who dont give a crap, on the Coach back
fatloser
This is got to be because we got them last game of the season. His heads turned, now he will let us win? Didn't we relegated Norwich in 1995?
Blitz
Yes, Blitz, but Lambert wasn't there then..... Lambert is another Scot, but at least he knows how football is meant to be played.
Pride of Lions
i would not want the Grant Holt's of this world at Villa i would prefer Victor Moses reason why i would prefer Martinez he has improved a lot this season. i never wanted him last time but now he has improved he looks the real deal and can only get better. if he worked along side a Director of football/chair man like David Dein, Houllier or Van Gaal something special could be created at our Club.
