Next Manager Links Begin - Paul Lambert?

The Sun have an exclusive by Charlie Wyett saying that Aston Villa are looking at Norwich boss Paul Lambert as a possible replacement for the current incumbent Alex McLeish.

Safety or not, the Club will review McLeish`s tenure at the end of the season, having backed him for the remaining three games v WBA, Spurs and Norwich.

I think the conclusion from the Sun that draw isn`t unreasonable after just one win in 13! lol Actually, scrub the lol, it isn`t funny!

The report says Norwich would fight to keep Lambert but if he left, they`d turn to either Malky Mackay or Chris Hughton.

Must admit, what with me being a genius and all, I said we should have had Hughton last year. What a shame we didn`t eh?!

Funnily enough, a Norwich fan came into 100% Villa forum saying that people their end were scared that Villa were coming in for Lambert. See: Click Here

why would he want to leave Norwich to manage in the championship?
27/04/2012 11:47:00
Exactly AVB&B... Why!

this is the thing, if we survive they might keep eck. If we don`t someone like lambert won`t come here.

We are reminded now and again that after taking advise within the game Randy Lerner appointed Mcleish.Well whoever it was that gave that advise Randy is going to cost you a huge amount of money if this club is relegated. The next man in is going to have a hard job whoever is appointed and just to prove the press wrong I am betting that many like myself would not mind Chris Hughton thought he was a good bet last year. Others including Lambert I am sure would do a decent job.

I think if we approached Lambert it would be like Martinez last year, he won't leave Norwich yet. He has taken them very far and I believe he'd think he has unfinished business. Martinez is the best bet, I think he will be looking for a new challenge, he probably told Whelan one more season to give him time to plan. Also I think Randy would respect Martinez' decision to stick at Wigan a last summer therefore offer him again. And because you should always have a backup I'd have Poyet

Lambert Martinez or the tea lady dont care now just get Mcmuppet out!!!!!!
27/04/2012 12:37:00
Can we secretly employ Lambert in 2 weeks time so he can start by playing a team of 6 against us with maybe Grant Holt in nets? If you want the job Paul then please dont send us down!!

lol Chelt nice angle but I wouldnt bet on us scoring even then Mcleish would play 10 back in case Holty dribbles out of his area.
27/04/2012 13:00:00
its a cunning plan to stop us going down ,,,we should offer the job to the managers of wba and spuds just in case.......19
