Did Someone Mention PIES??!?!?!

Did Someone Mention PIES??!?!?!

Villa supporters will be feasting on the Petrov Pie at Saturday's game against Sunderland after a vote to determine the most popular pie fillings.

As part of a special promotion, fans were asked to suggest their favourite pie filling with the winning entry chosen to be served around the ground on matchday.

There is a Bulgarian flavour to the latest winning pie, which has been named in honour of Villa's club captain Stiliyan Petrov.

A percentage from sales of the Petrov Pie will be donated to the Cure Leukaemia charity as the skipper continues his battle against the illness.

The fillings in the Petrov pie are chicken, leek and Bulgarian kefta meatballs.

The winning filling was chosen by Villa supporter Mr Hugh Cottrill.

Five new entries have now been shortlisted with the winner being served at the final home game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday May 6.

The five shortlisted pies are:

1) Bloxwich Beef, Local Ale and Onions
2) Chicken, Kefte' and Leek
3) Chorizo sausage, spicy patatas bravas and chicken
4) Local sausage, mash and beans with a touch of gravy
5) Local Roasted Vegetables pie 'The Villa Veggie'

The special pie promotion comes as Villa look to climb the prestigious Football Pie League.

The club are currently in fourth place in the table run by HandCNews.com - so get voting to help Villa climb the league.

Voting is simple. You just need to like the The H and C News Football Pie League on Facebook and then post your positive claret and blue comment.

It was an existing (and still running promotion) Lerner, linking the Bulgarian theme to Stan benefits charity, not the club and the club will actually lose money by doing it.
