Just read this: http://en.rian.ru/sports/20120419/172911969.html which I noticed via Steve Wollaston at The Birmingham Mail
The site quotes former Blues on loan (from Barcelona) player (he played 19 times) Alexander Hleb about his time at Blues under Alex McLeish.
"At Birmingham, the team played the long-ball game, practically bypassing midfield. To get into the game you had to play up front or linger at the back with the defenders to get hold of the ball, which more often than not flew right past me.'
He says Alex McLeish wasn`t 'not a bad bloke' but ..................! On tactics:
'The day before a game he would come onto the pitch and show us what to do: 'You stand here, the goalkeeper will give you the ball here, kick it as far as you can and don't pass to anyone nearby. And we all run.''
Ahem.
OUCH.
He`s not the only Blues player to say such things but I can`t repeat the other bits as they were said privately!!!!
Embarrassing though. Wish this situation had never transpired, not for him, not for us.

bigolbear1979, DOL was a twerp for sure, but he was working under bad circumstances and no money etc, think the first season we played decent enough football and finished the same as the Messiah, 6th. I think he'd have been better suited, with the money we had at the start, than MON who proved he wasn't able to buy that well. Bad timing eh!?
