Gabby Agbonlahor has praised the fans for sticking with the club this season.
Yes it's a slow news day!
Speaking to the Official Site Gabby admitted Villa had been inconsistent this season and praised the fans for sticking with the club during our season of transition.
Speaking firstly about the season he said:
'I think if you look at the players we lost in the summer it was always going to be a season of change and transition but I think the good times will come back. If you ask any of the players they will admit it has been a tough season. We started off really well and then we've had a dip. We knew it was going to be a tough campaign but we're battling through and we will keep going in the remaining games.'
An honest assessment yes, but maybe not honest enough. Let's face it, the players we lost in the summer were hardly pulling up trees last season when we faced the exact same problems as we have done this time round, so that can't really be blamed.
It would be nice to see the seniors discuss their form properly without excuses.
Anyway, a slow news day doesn't give me an excuse to moan longer, so onto the positive stuff, his comments about the fans:
'I think the fans know it has been a hard season, it's been tough on them. But I think if you ask most of them I think that no matter what they will support the team, they will stick with us through good and bad. There have been some good times while I have played for the club and hopefully the fans will stick with us through the not so good times.'
Actions are louder than words Gabs, let's see a response on the pitch.
