Alex McLeish has told www.avfc.co.uk he thinks the youngsters can do well today at Old Trafford.

'The enthusiasm and the confidence will probably raise above any of the pressure that the young lads might feel. They might not even see it as pressure. They see it as a chance to get into the first team and to make a name for themselves. I've seen that hunger and desire in them, no question. Watching them in training this week, they are so vibrant. You can see they have a good understanding too. They have played together for quite a long time."

And on the game: 'You have to believe. The bookies won't be tipping us. Most people won't be tipping us. I don't see that attitude with the amount of young guys in the squad. What we lack in experience is more than made up with enthusiasm. They have a willingness to go from start to finish. There is quality there as well.'

Well, he has given youth its chance!

Let's hope it's a proper 442 rather than two non wingers wide.

No mike, just amended as above, as he has gone 451. He told the few of us who met him in the summer, he KNEW gabby wasn't a winger. Errr. Ok!?

Parp, some wishes are just too good to be true! And to be fair aswell since the summer JF we've found out he plays 4 forwards every game!

Must be working. We are only losing 1 0 and we are into the last 83 minutes.

Shut up Gordon. He's been forced to give youth a chance, not through choice. Also none of the seniors want to play for the cock. The kids may not get another chance so they'll play for anyone!!

Fortunately only 2 of Manures 9 attempts on target have gone in. McMuppets decision to defend at all costs is looking errr . . . . . . slightly flawed. I didnt expect anything today, but we are looking at the wrong end of 5 or 6. And 444 do not worry about glb. He is like his brother McMuppet . . . . . he wants to defend, just doesn't know how to.

Villan444: shut up? Great debate starter. I have no idea why you come onto this site. I thought it was for fans. Maybe I was wrong. Yes he did choose yoth Heskey and Zoggie on the bench if you look at the team. Then again looking at anything that does not fit your McLeish out theme is too much like hard work eh?

Gordan he has a point, and you can't talk about a 'Mcleish out theme' because your just as bad but you just constantly defend him...Can you defend that first half performance? I certainty cant...Hope City somehow win this league, would love them to do it, sick of Utd cheating to win...If it wasn't for refs or little rats like Young they would never of been as successful as they have been, English football is corrupt, there i said it.

Gordon, you can't debate as you have an agenda also and can't see the obvious. At least I admit my agenda mate. Eck out. Please don't question mine or anyone else's position as a fan. You are the one who are Eck's fan, and you support him over your (supposed) team!!!

We all support the Villa. I want McMuppet out, and I am supporting my team by showing that I want him out. glb is supporting his team by saying that McMuppet should stay. However I can't see how supporting a failed manager who is dragging this club into a possible terminal abyss can be seen as positive. glb, like all of us wants a positive and exciting Villa. However you can not have positive and exciting and also have McMuppet!!!! glb is just slightly confused in his loyalty to his family (the McMuppet clan) and his loyalty to Villa. So glb please put us all straight - do you want a positive and exciting football club (something that McMuppet has never, ever produced)? Or do you want McMuppet? Fairly simple choice because you can't have both?

24 shots at our goal. 16 on target. Please please please Randolph. There is never a wrong time to do the right thing. I presume you realise that next season that if McMuppet is still in charge then you have a business with no customers. We can not take this any more. glb. Please tell me how you can defend mcMuppet for one moment longer. The man is indefensible. I am praying that the Poyet/Zola link coming out of Villa Park (although unreported by their puppet at the Evening Mail) is true.

Why would we want Poyet & Zola, we'd only be a stepping stone for them en route to Chelsea. You can keep them thanks voth.

schoolboy. I am only telling you the rumour. But why must we be a stepping stone? Has Bruce, Keane or Ince used their managerial positions as stepping stones for United. Did Phil Neal, John Barnes use it as stepping stones for Redscouse. Just because somebody once played for a club, doesn't mean they automatically go on to manage them. Or have I missed something somewhere?

Rumour coming out of Villa Park? Doubt that is true. Strange how everyone who does not share the view of some posters on here is an idiot, puppet or bed partner. Yes I do love and support my club, have done for years. I just fail to believe that McLeish is what you think he is. I have different point of view, nothing wrong with that and neither do I sink to name calling.

Gordon, no-one likes Eck eckcept you. Either you don't know what the hell you're on about or you have an agenda. What are the plus points?? Please enlighten us. P.S. don't say he plays the kids because GH did that as did KMac and he brought on Heskey when the game was lost already when he could've blooded some more youngsters. 95% + of fans hate his style of football and what he is doing to the once good name of our club. Why do you come on here repeating the same rubbish as you're clearly wrong ( in response to your questioning why I post on here???) don't complain when everyone disagrees with you. Do you like being persecuted?? You're obviously not stupid but what you say sounds like you're Eck himself!!

glb - my posts agreed that we both want the same thing, a positive exciting Villa. No name calling at all. In fact the only name calling has been you, calling anyone who uses a joke name for McMuppet an idiot. You still havent answered the question on wether you would like exciting atrractive football, or McMuppet? In all of his years of management he has never done this. So what is it you want. McMuppet and relegation scraps or good football? You can't have both!!!

That was soul destroying to watch doubt if Rooney has played so badly this season Utd were never out of second gear.
