Shocking Villa Corners Stats!

Shocking Villa Corners Stats!

This forum thread has just been started by Trekker: Corners?

@MatKendrick: Villa have failed to score from their last 346 corners in the Premier League in the past 17 months. (Thanks to @martinlaurence7 for stats)

Interesting stuff! I`ve asked in the thread,

Anyone know the average stats?

This is obviously way beyond what it should be but I do remember reading a good few years ago shocking stats as to how many goals are scored from corners, almost questioned why fans get so excited by getting a corner, as they don't result that often in goals.

Obviously the stats would be slightly above ours one would think! lol

Full thread: Corners?

We`ve conceded a fair few FROM corners this season, I know that much. 20 or so now isn`t it?!

be interesting to know roughly the stats for goals scored from corners in PL. As I say, I remember reading something saying not as many as people think but certainly more than those stats above!

@MatKendrick: The last goal #avfc scored from a corner in the Prem was James Collins' Villa Park winner against Blackpool in November 2010

Shoddy - think it's a bit to do with desire - the players dont have the desire to play for this clown of a manager...

Well theres no point us getting excited over a corner. But when a team gets a corner against us they might as well start celebrating straight away!

Would like to know excactly where Randy Lerner thinks the current manager/'coach' is going to take the club! CL?, Top 6?, League/FA Cup? Where? What's the plan? Is there a plan?

What do they do on the training ground?? It's not corners. It's not set pieces. It's not passing or shooting (I assume Wiemann must've stayed behind on his own. ) I assume that it's "see who can kick the ball furthest, sign language( or whatever it is that the 2 clowns do on the sideline.) perhaps they re-enact braveheart battles in preparation for nothing. Used to win 5-a-side games on corners gained if the score was level. They are a definite advantage. Teams like stoke and anyone managed by allardyce score half their goals from them. At least the Eckscuse makers have all shut up. Maybe they have been to specsavers at last.

Hurrah. I have been beating this drum for a while now. Thank God somebody else is paying attention. Goals from set pieces tend to equate to between 45 and 50% of all goals scored. Some teams are higher, for example the teams managed by managers who favour big players and a more direct style of football such as Pulis, Allardyce, Moyes and maybe surprisingly to some, Morinihio. Footballing managers such as Wenger, Rogers, Martinez etc score less from set pieces. And then there is the McMuppet style. This season we have conceded 21 goals from set pieces (not including penalties) 13 of which have been corners. Ivanovich socred more from a corner in 35 minutes than our entire squad has in 17 months. The most important fact about these stats is it is direct and undeniable proof of what happens on the training ground. The goals scored and conceded are as a direct result of the work that the management do with the team day in day out at Bodymoor Heath. If players are not doing as they have been trained then they would have been dropped. As this hasn't happened, we can only assume that players ARE doing as they have been trained every day to do. Our 21 - 0 deficit is absolute clear proof (as if more was needed) that McMuppet and his management team are total failures. They should be sacked immediately without any compensation. If they think they deserve it then let them go to a tribunal. 21 - 0 is clear evidence of failure and neglect of our great club. If anybody tries to defend this outrageous failure and unrefutable facts then thay are either related to McMuppet or are one of the club staff that have been ordered on to these sites to defend his record. Like our team, mcMuppet is indefensible and there is absolutely no justifable reason for him to be at Villa Park a minute longer. There is never a wrong time to do the right thing. 21 - 0 ffs 21 - 0 ffs 21 - 0 ffs 21 - 0 ffs The more I say it the more outrageous it becomes. This is what McMuppets management has created. Poyet for Villa.
