SOUTH AFRICAN Villan`s doing it for STAN

SOUTH AFRICAN Villan`s doing it for STAN

The Johannesburg Supporters Club got together and signed a national team shirt as part of our support for captain Stiliyan Petrov.

Stiliyan is fondly remembered by South African fans as he met some members of the supporters club when on international duty with Bulgaria two years. He made a point of coming out to meet Villa fans and spend a few hours chatting about the club and his love of Villa.

We are therefore all deeply saddened to learn of Stiliyan`s illness. We do however know that he is a fighter and will beat the illness and hopefully lead Villa out again in the new season.

Stiliyan also, incidentally, was voted as the SA Supporters Club player of the Year prior to his illness being announced.

The attached pictures show members of the Supporters club whilst Tariq and Yasser Bodiat display the many shirts given to them by Stiliyan over the last few years.

James Close will be at Villa Park for the Sunderland game and will be handing over the signed shirt to Stiliyan.
