Sean Verity - Youngsters Are A Credit To The Club

Sean Verity has paid tribute to the players who turned out for the second string this season after we secured our fourth South League title in five seasons yesterday.

Speaking to the Official Site Verity hailed the youngsters as a 'credit to the club' after a sterling performance in less than perfect weather on Wearside brought us the well deserved silverware:

'To all the lads who have played, they have all been an absolute credit to the club. Credit to all the players who have pulled on that jersey. We finished it off properly.'

Verity also revealed that some of the lads on show yesterday are being released in the summer, and he thinks they did their chances of securing a new club quickly no harm at all.

He obviously doesn't say who is on the way out obviously, be it'll be interesting to see who does depart, because nobody actually stands out as needing to drop a level from what I've seen this season.

Hard to think any could be released after such stirling efforts, but sadly it's a fact of life for some young lads trying tomake it in the world of soccer.
