Pre-Stoke Build Up - KICK OFF 5:30pm Remember!

A reminder to those who haven`t checked, the kick off is 5:30pm today v Stoke.

A little bit of pre-match build up:

The Official Site says that both Carlos Cuellar and Charles N`Zogbia might be fit to face Stoke but Marc Albrighton is definitely out.

McLeish said Albrighton was 'terrific` when he came on v Chelsea but picked up a thigh strain in training adding, 'He had the same injury earlier in the season."

On Zoggy and Cuellar, he says they are 'close`... "Whether they can start the game having not trained for a couple of weeks, that's something we have to consider. I know the lads in the dressing room want to go again, such is the high of the draw and state of mind they are in. We will have a check on them before we decide on the team."

Tickets on general sale (ignore the kick off time, it is wrong on this link) www.eticketing.co.uk/avfc

Meanwhile Stephen Warnock has told Paul Brown on www.avfc.co.uk they are doing it for Stan.

He told AVTV: 'There's togetherness about the squad. We are close anyway but with everything that has gone on in recent days it's bought us even closer. It's a great atmosphere around the place. It's spot on. There's a great mood and spirit here in the camp. It's great going in each day at Bodymoor. All the lads love going in. I certainly do."

It is strange, if this is the case, what is giving us such a wretched season? There is little to no 'joy` on the pitch is there? ie no one seems relaxed, no one seems to be enjoying their game and no one through the season has wanted to keep the ball and play!

Anyway, a win today would surely give us safety and maybe then they can relax and pick up a few more points to give us an at least half 'respectable` finish?

On the Stoke game the full back acknowledges:

'The Stoke game is massive. We need three points. If we put that kind of performance in and shows those energy levels, hopefully we will get the right result.'

Togetherness? Why is it that they look like they've never even been introduced prior to taking the pitch on a match day... let alone have trained together? Has Alistair Campbell got a role at VP these days with the amount of journos in the pocket of Villa Park's version of 'Central Services'?

Don't think it is on ESPN so the kick off time is a mystery to me!

I'd say it was more PR hype but the bit about warnock loving going to bodymoor heath rings true as he wouldn't get a game for villa ladies. I also noticed a tactic at liverpool - our first of the season - if the opposition come anywhere near our penalty area fall on the floor and hold your head!.......nice tactic alex!

It isn't on tv, it is just that Stoke envoked the 48 hour thing, as their last game was late kick off as well...
