'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Galway Honour Deacy

The home of Galway United, Terryland Park, is to be renamed Deacy Park in honour of the late Eamonn Deacy.

The 1981 winner played for Galway United after leaving B6 and apparently the land used to build Terryland Park was actually brought from the Deacy family back in the 1930s.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Eamonn's brother Don said of the honour:

'Hopefully, most of his former mates with Aston Villa will be able to come over for what should be a great day.'

The renaming ceremony will take place later in the year.

For those who missed it previously, Ken McNaught paid a glowing tribute with some good memories to his former colleague - Click Here.

What a nice thought of Galway United of remembering Eamonn this way. Respect.

I was lucky enough to be entertained by clients in the 1874 suite for the Chelsea game and Eamonn's wife and kids were there as guests with Tony Morley. Good on Galway.. one of our famous 14
