James Collins has told the Official Site 'I haven't shown my top form so far this season but I'm now getting back to my best.'
Hope he is getting back to his best. The 29-year-old also drifted at best last season, as did his partner Richard Dunne.
Before their conduct last season, Collins was amongst my favourite players at Villa, now I`d be happier to see the entire defense depart this summer. Hutton, Warnock, Dunne and Collins. Cuellar can stay!!!
Anyway, if he re-focuses, then who knows.
He says he is proud to be at Villa and to have played a 100 games in three years for us.
'It's something I will look back at with pride. In past seasons I've struggled with injuries so I never reached that figure with Cardiff or West Ham. The first season was obviously the highlight because I was playing well and we reached the Carling Cup final and FA Cup semi-final as well as doing well in the league. That was massive for me. When I came to the club a lot of people didn't know who I was so it was great have such a good start."
But he admits, 'Unfortunately I haven't shown that form in the past couple of seasons but I feel I'm getting back to my best now."
He also says it does affect him when he`s had a bad game, he takes it badly and that by the standards he sets, he has let himself down.
