Second Pre Contract Close To Agreement?

Second Pre Contract Close To Agreement?

It's being reported that Villa are close to signing Hearts 29 year old goalie Marian Kello on a pre contract agreement for the summer.

STV say they understand that the player is attempting to secure an early release from his contract at the Scottish club after falling out with the manager.

If the player secures his release it would have to be a pre-contract arrangement for the summer as he wouldn't be eligible to play because of moving outside of the transfer window, but I presume he would of course start training with us.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't count as a free transfer, but I don't suppose I have to understand these things.

Villa aren't the only club interesting the goalkeeper apparently, with Everton also expressing an interest along with Championship sides Bristol City and Nottingham Forest.

Despite being their number 1, he apparently fell out with Hearts management after a deadline day transfer to Austria Vienna was refused by the player and he hasn't played for the first team since February.

Speaking out over his predicament, Kello said:

'I don't feature in the future of the club and I haven't been offered a new contract. They say they don't want me for next season because of the money problems and they want to work with youngsters.'

Quotes from STV.

That's Guzan off so. Pity. He was (is) a solid number 2 but wouldn't begrudge him a move to get first team football.

Remember everyone Eck doesnt "have time to sort contracts out until the end of the season" (his quote)...I now fully expect a massive clear out of the summer. Hopefully Randy has just hired Eck as a 'fred the shred' type person and he'll be gone once operation 'Get rid of crap players' is over. We can then pass the team over to a proper manger who can mold us into his own vision.
