Updated ATTENDANCE Watch For AVFC

Updated: Attendance Watch For Villa Games

Update on the Attendance watch this season:

Attendances so far this season and comparison with last seasons corresponding doo dah (technical football term)

PL: Blackburn Rovers home... 32 319 (Blackburn brought 250 tops).... v Blackburn last season at home (Sept): 34 309... our first home game last season was v West Ham with an attendance of 36 604 So down on both + puts pay to me wondering if some of this is holidays etc.

LC: 2nd round v Hereford 21 508... We joined in the 3rd round last season, that was v Blackburn Rovers and attendance was 18 753. So up but for balance, Hereford brought a big following, 3000-4000?

PL: Wolves ... attendance 30 776... Last season (played in March whilst flirting relegation), attendance 38 965. So down BUT it was a 3pm kick off and not on tv.

PL: Newcastle 34 248 last season 37 090 (played April on a Sunday, 4pm for Sky) ((This home game just played, I believe Newcastle had 1000 taken off them for problems at the Darlington game))

LC: Bolton 22 261 last season the second LC game was v Burnley at home 34 18 OUCH, that is some drop and a half.

PL: Wigan 30 744 Last season 36 293 (played May)

PL: WBA 34 152 Last season 37 015

PL: Norwich 35 290 not applicable last season, v Blackpool the then new boys 34 330

PL: Manchester United 40 053 Last season 40 073 so very little change from last season. Under MON`s last season: 42 788 (That was the season we finally beat them away from home and drew at Villa Park).

PL: Liverpool 37 460 last season 42 785

PL: Arsenal 35 818 last season 38 544

PL: Swansea 35 642 They came en masse... not in PL last season.

PL: Everton 31 853 last season 34 725

PL: QPR 32 063 no comparables really but Burnley similar? 34 618

PL: Manchester City 35 132 last season 37 815

PL: Fulham 32 372 last season 35 899

PL: Chelsea 34 740 last season 40 122

********

First home game last season (West Ham) had 36 604 (this season 32 319 v Blackburn)
Next home last season (Everton) had 34 725 (this season 30 776 v Wolves... on tv)
Third home PL last season (Bolton) 34 655 (this 34 248 v Newcastle)

********

Thats pretty conclusive evidence, I am not attending. Not because of our league position, not because of the manager Blues connections but because the football we serve up is utter rubbish. I love that the kids are getting a game but would love to see them with a licence to have fun!

Fear, does that include ALL ST's if they're there or not?

I blame the recession. In no way is the utter garbage on offer anything to do with the falling attendances. The fact that the club have practically given away tickets on many of the less attractive games this season also masks the true state of how much support has been lost!!! Next season will be even more interesting should Randolph Lerner decide to snub the fans and keep McMuppet in employment.

ljkal, yes, counts all ticket sales (as do all club figures for all teams, or at least that is my understanding of the figures used by all)

ljkal - I am a Villa Man. My family is Villa. I am going to do everything possible to help remove McMuppet from his job. I just hope that he has gone by the time season ticket renewal date comes around. Despite the club giving you renewal dates in May and June, your seats are not actually released until early July. So it maybe that I will wait until the 11th hour before parting with my cash. Or maybe not. Maybe this complete snub of the fans has done for me and my family?

ljkal- those who buy season tickets but who do not attend are still included in the matchday attendance figures. The three season ticket holders in front of me haven't bothered coming for several games now as a protest against McMuppet, but they will still be in the attendance figures.

I miss Villa Park, but am adamant that I will not fund this muppet out of my hard earned, If the board deem that he deserves another year, then its another year that I will stay away. My gaffer just about sums it up, he has had a season ticket for around 40 years or so I reckon, his dads seat passed down to his son, he showed me his renewal, around £800, and started umming and arrring about it! If thats the type of supporter thats starting to get cold feet then alls not well.

J, sorry to point out that season 2006/07 was not "DOL's days". That was MON's first season.
