'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sunday Press AVFC Transfer Talk

Sky Sports have highlighted the link from Voetbal Primeur to Heerenveen striker Bas Dost.

The Dutch u-21 international is quoted as saying:

'It is positive news. You hear this and of course it is nice to know they are interested. Aston Villa is a club I don't know very well, but they look good. I have spoken with my agent and we won't be discussing anything during the season.'

Meanwhile, the often linked out Stephen Ireland isn`t going anywhere according to a Mat Kendrick report in The Birmingham Mail

Ireland apparently is still intent on forcing his way back into a regular spot in the Villa team.

"My objective now is to be the best I can and to keep entertaining the fans. Things are going brilliantly for me at the moment and that`s a massive relief."

Adding, it was a relief when the fans sang his name during December in the home game v Arsenal.

"I was coming off and they gave me this great reception. It really opened my eyes and I thought 'yeah, I can kick on from here. I have something to build on now`.

Fan power eh? Just shows what we CAN do.

"I think I`ve got a really good relationship with the fans. They`ve backed me. They can see what I`m about and they can relate to that."

And McLeish on the enigmatic midfielders latest transfer out link: "I`ve seen the talk of the Red Bulls but I don`t know where it came from."

This article was brought to you in association with Doritos chilli heatwave... well, I say in association, I was eating a packet whilst trying to type and now the keyboard is a little sticky.

I digress:

The Fear
Instead of speculating that players are coming in, can't we speculate that a certain someone is on his way out? Please?
astvil123
Take your pick astvil123,one gaffer(not going) and a few players, plenty to choose from though.
jasevilla
Agreed astvil123, to me the most important thing is to get this turd out at the end of the season and replace him with a good manager. This is getting very SERIOUS!
Pride of Lions
I really like Bas Dost, he would add something to our squad big and a regular goal scoring threat.
