There is an interesting thread in our 100% Villa forum at the moment listing the players who are available on a Bosman this summer. Some gems amongst them. Thought I`d open this to the wider audience on the front page (as that also then filters into our twitter/facebook as well as newsnow etc pages) Who would you like? I must say I`m surprised there is any sort of debate at all around the postponement of the Villa v Bolton game, but then, football and the debates surrounding it never cease to surprise me! Gabby Agbonlahor has said he has his sights focused on Dwight Yorke's Villa record, but he doesn't mind if he doesn't make it this season. Daniel Johnson has today put pen to paper on a new one year extension. This means the midfielder will now stay at the club until at least June 2013. The 19 year old has been making steady progress this term, looking very impressive in reserve clashes and finding the net 6 times (3 in the NextGen).
Chris Herd has welcomed fellow Aussie and barbie lover Brett Holman to the Villa as he thinks the move will be bonzer. Erm, this 'sarvo' Herdy said he didn't give a Castlemaine XXXX about anything else other then the impending arrival of his new surfing buddy from AZ Alkmaar. Full quotes: G'Day Brett! ... CEO Paul Faulkner has talked about our 'challenging season' but he remains confident we are moving in the right direction. I'm not going to go back over the recent financials, suffice to say we all know the state we were in with wages and our position now isn't anywhere near as bad as the headlines of record losses suggest when you knuckle down and look at the specifics.....So it's no real surprise to see Faulkner say he's confident in the direction the club is heading.
