So Which Bosman Players Should Villa Go For?

There is an interesting thread in our 100% Villa forum at the moment listing the players who are available on a Bosman this summer.

Some gems amongst them.

Thought I`d open this to the wider audience on the front page (as that also then filters into our twitter/facebook as well as newsnow etc pages)

Who would you like?

Looks like an ideal opportunity to go for some top players without having to worry about big fees!

Forum thread: Who's worth the Bosman rule ???

List of available players: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics.html

I`d go for Berbatov myself... then again, I`m lazy and haven`t looked much further down the list, I leave other members to do the scouting and reports on who is good or not, I`m Villa centric or myopic really!

Berbatov is still the most naturally gifted player ive seen at the lane although VDV comes close. He can do things with an orange that Bent cant do with a football with regards to technique, hed be an amazing signing

Well its safe to say we wont get any of the good players... Id take nearly any collection of those players... Hoillett, Taiwo, Sigurdsson, Pienaar, Figueroa, Pogrebnyck, Boyata are the main picks i would go with... their realistic targets...

I'd go for that Cuellar bloke, heard he's good. Kalou would be a good signing and he might actually come and there's a sell on potential for him too at just 26, proven PL scorer...... Berbatov/Adebayor would think he's bigger than the club and don't work hard enough for McLeish and are troublesome behind the scenes, so nope. Rodallega would also be nice, him and Bent/Gabby might work well. There's a few decent players there, some are well worth a punt, on another note Bolton and Wigan seem prepared for relegation with 12 and 7 players on the list respectively! And one more caught the eye, Kyle Naughton, possibly worth a shot, seeing as our present FBs are a little incontinent (sp.)

That Carlos Cuellar would be a good addition...

lol Jongekki beat me to it! As for the rest I'd agree with CDX_EIRE, the top players will all end up at Anzhi or in China or Baghdad because they'll go where the money is. Hoillett definitely, and I'd take Pogrebnyak and Sigurdsson too. That would be real good Bosman business.

some very good players there, hoillet is a player we must be targeting and just hope no bigger clubs are looking at him but I doubt it, we are desperatly in need of a LB so I would take figueroa, sigurdsson, Kalou, and benayoun would all be worth a shot too.

Berba is not on a free Man Utd have or will be activating the optional year to his contract so their would be a fee to pay but he will be leaving Old Trafford that is for sure.

Hoillet, King Carlos and Denis Stracqualursi without a doubt. All I think would be great at VP.

I'd go for that Josh McEachran fella. He's going to be very good in one or two years. Taye Taiwo would also be a very good signing considering our need for a solid CB. Obviously we need to keep Cuellar. All the big names will want huge wages so i can't see that happening. David Hoilett, JosÚ Bosingwa, Steven Pienaar and Royston Drenthe are worth a shot and not unrealistic.

Hoillet, Pienaar, Figueroa, Drenthe, would all be worth a shot in my opinion. McEachran could turn out to be a decent player, Rodellega i'd be tempted by as well. Kalou would be good, although a little more unlikely.

We need some defensive replacements, so yeah Taiwo, Naughton and maybe Bosingwa as well. I'd also like to see any of Rodallega, Figueroa, Kalou or Bendtner.. UTV

A lot of players on this list seem to be people whose loans, not permanent contracts, are running out. Hoilet would be great, but I could see him going somewhere like Liverpool or Arsenal.

Spurs have already targetted Hoilett so doubt we will get him Pienaar I can see going back to Everton. Rodallega cant get in the Wigan team. Figueroa & Naughton could be worth a shout. lol thorpy its supposed to be who we would like from the Bosmans not who we are going to get.
