Gabby Looking To Bar Yorkie From Record Top Spot

Gabby Looking To Bar Yorkie From Record Top Spot

Gabby Agbonlahor has said he has his sights focused on Dwight Yorke's Villa record, but he doesn't mind if he doesn't make it this season.

Speaking to the E&S the 26 year old said he would love to surpass Yorkie's league goal record - he sits 6 shy - but whilst it would be nice to reach it this season, he won't beat himself up if he doesn't:

Gabby action

'Dwight was a great striker and it would be a tremendous achievement to beat that. It would mean a lot to me, it would be nice to break the record this season but I don't set targets for myself.'

Would certainly be a boost if he could reach it this season and we could do with finishing this campaign on a high, but it's surely only a matter of time before he does.

6 short of Yorkies record? Well it's safe for this season isn't it..... He's hardly scored this year so far, if at all, so 6 between now and the end of the season..... Not a chance....Lol

If I was Gabby I would be burning holes in my socks trying to get into the England Euro Squad. To me he just doesn't look interested, but we can't leave him on the bench as we sell the most shirts with his name on the back.......

Obviously needs someone to set targets for him. Step-up WinsforVilla! "Gabriel your target shall be 7 more league goals this season, with 3 from one-on-one situations. And don't listen to anyone who says that fewer goals will do, especially if they sound scotish!"

I luv gabby to bits but i have to agree with villan57 weimann is in form Gabby is not, so if we are to play 2 upfront play them both but if we only play one it has to be weimann for me, gabby is my fave player but he just doesnt look like he will score to me or go on a scoring run?
