Johnson Secures Extension

Daniel Johnson has today put pen to paper on a new one year extension.

This means the midfielder will now stay at the club until at least June 2013.

The 19 year old has been making steady progress this term, looking very impressive in reserve clashes and finding the net 6 times (3 in the NextGen).

looks a good player would have liked him to have signed for longer. The few games I have watched he has been great, the driving force of the team. A very good midfielder. Would like to see him in the 1st team if we make it safe. Keep it up

Sounds a bit like Taylor, head down work hard and he could become Tales.

He must be half decent as we are not short in the Midfield department when it comes to acadamy players breaking through into the 1st team squad. Keep it up lad!!! As he's jamaican born, and the Jamaican olympic team are training at Alexander Stadium in the summer, why not train with Usain Bolt - get some serious tips to get pace behind him and fly down that wing - Tony Daley style?? Good promo for both villa and their olympic team?? Who knows Daniel might even sign up for some superfast broadband!!! :-)

I'm with Shane on this one. Bit concerned that he's that good but only signed a one year extention?...... what's the crack with that I wonder.

Basically the jury is still out so it sounds to me - will he be a Premier League Player? Got another 12 months to prove his mustard. Has he had any injuries?
MarkMac
He should have been signed for 2 years; we could lose him for nothing once he proves himself. Even if he turns out not to be premiership class he's certainly championship class - a false economy.
