'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bannan Welcomes Our Aussie Bosman

Barry Bannan has said that Brett Holman will add great experience and competition to the team when he joins up on a free transfer in the summer.

Speaking to the Official Site after the announcement earlier in the week about the Australian international joining up, Bannan says the squad are looking forward to his arrival and to see what he can bring to the club:

'I think it's a good signing and I think Brett will contribute a lot to the experience and quality of the squad. The gaffer clearly thinks he is a player who will add something and that's going to keep everyone on their toes.'

Bannan thinks it's a sign of both the clubs' and Holman's ambition that he's moving on from AZ Alkmaar despite their title push and no doubt guaranteed Champions League involvement next season, and wee Barry says Holman is eager to get started at his new club having already visited the training ground.

'Brett will be made very welcome at Aston Villa, he's already been to the training ground to have a look around and I think he met one or two of the lads. He's very eager to come here and he will have the mentality which all Australian sports people seem to have - he wants to win.'
