McLeish On Bosmans & Mystery Capture?

McLeish On Bosmans & Mystery Capture?

Alex McLeish has talked about the prudency of his plans for a summer rebuild and it's being reported we are already only 48 hours away from announcing our first capture?

The Birmingham Mail are again carrying these quotes from the manager - they are old, he said them before the Blackburn game - but it looks a relatively slow news day so enjoy what yuou get :-)

'We have tried to do the homework right now because we are being prudent. That is why we have tried to scout as many good Bosmans as we can, but there are targets as well that cost money.'

McLeish adds that money will be spent in the summer, and clearly by his use of the word 'good' I don't imagine we'll be going for last payday journeymen but of course our definition of 'good' and who we sign is open to interpretation.

'I definitely believe that Villa will come out of this well. We've already made some plans to bring player in.'

Now of course those quotes have given rise to plenty of speculation of late, there's a defender who's name I can't spell unless I copy and paste it again (Exciting - Defender Linked), there have been some really vague links to Fulham's Pavel Pogrebnyak and Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones, not forgetting links to Bayern's Olic that was discussed on the forum, and of course the most recent one being (McLeish To Go Wylde).

However the Mail state that the player who the club hope to announce and sign a pre-contract with within the next 48 hours remains unnamed and unknown - even amongst the rumour mill.

The mind boggles...could this be the wierdest way of announcing Carlos has signed a new contract?

Not sure what ECK considers "good" signings, I mean whats the point in getting rid of our deadweight just to get in deadweight from other clubs ridiculas, out with the old and in with the same crap only they will be all long ball merchants so ECK can put his stamp on the team, not looking forward to next year at all...

Oh sweet J**sus what a negative shower you are - grow a pair and man up - were you really expecting Messi, Xavi and Iniesta? Why do you call yourselves fans - you sure aren't supporting this club, as far as I can see.

You that sort who won't shut up saying 'VTID' bob? The kind who will just keep throwing money at the club, shut up and be happy? Yeah thought so, i have my own brain, im not a sheep, if i don't like something or someone i'll say so, i won't change my opinion to be a good fan, i'll say what i see.

P.Avfc....remember the Ron Saunders quote " the knockers act requires no brains at all ". New player coming in, wish him well and pray it works. Free transfers and low priced 'surplus' are all we are going to sign from now on. The future of this club rests fully with the youth treadmill. Get used to it. Support the club not the individuals.

Telford i do wish him well, it's just that from what iv'e saw from him doesn't look too good but i hope he can make an impact. And your probably right about the club and i can get use to that, doesn't mean i will pay to watch Mcleish's dull football, money is tight these days and there are more worthy things to spend money on.

Look on the bright side at least everyone is getting a heads up on the diresction next season is taking ahead of spending money on season tickets rather than being given false hope that something spectacular is going to happen and everyone commits ! so if you don't like whats happening don't waste your money simples!!!!

I don't mind new players but my worry is that McLeish is signing them!?! I'm just waiting for the day when this bad dream is over. Don't worry about Holman coming in we need to get McLeish out!!
