No Firm Offer For Cuellar

No Firm Offer For Cuellar

Carlos Cuellar has revealed that although talks have been had with the club over a new contract, he is yet to receive a concrete offer.

Speaking to the Independent Cuellar said that he had hoped that the club would've already offered him a contract and he really wants to stay at the Villa.

'Has there been an offer? No, there has been no offer yet. I am relaxed about it, I am fine. If they want me to stay here, it will be easy. I am happy here at Villa, I would like to stay. If my contract is finished I will have to say 'thank you, goodbye, it was a pleasure to be here, and I am grateful for the last four years.'

Cuellar has already shown himself to be our most consistent performer in defence this season, so he shouldn't be the defender we are looking to ship out!

Unfortunately it's not down to skills, it's rather more to do with wages and value. Anyway, AMcL might want to build his own team here. So who knows what may happen this summer?

Surely thuis is a no brainer. Offerr him a decent contract, or offend fans and common sense. He is class in attitude and aptitude.

Note to self ( and all other villa fans who visit this site) . I will get Cuellar printed on my new shirt next season! (if he signs) Yes i may of joked in the past of his turning circle of a cruiseliner but no more ! The man is my new olof. Class in attitude and definitely class in aptitude in his preferred role of CB. Long live King Carlos !

Just sign him up already!?! He's a good honest man and player, he has his head screwed on correctly unlike some others. Surely that kind of character is not only great to have on the field but great to have around the training ground and up and coming kids. Carlos and Stan should be offered coaches roles as well when they retire, like Larsen should have been

Delighted at these comments - love Carlos!! Far better than Hutton at right back and finally playing in his preferred position in the middle. Besides, they dont make beards like that anymore...

Oh my word. What a mess we are in. This guy should have been given a contract weeks ago. He is an absolute pro and a good versatile defender to have in the ranks. No brainer for me.

andy5759 - we don't want Idiot building anything here thank you. Don't faff about, get Carlos signed up FAST! He's the type of pro we need at VP.

McLeish building his own team ... Hutton in/Cuellar out. Sounds OK to me :-(
08/03/2012 08:20:00
If Carlos leaves on a free due to us not offering him a contract this will hack me off more than anything else that's gone on this season. He is our best defender and has been awesome (3 back to back motm is it?), true professional and can't be on more than dunne or collins? Ship them out, keep the king and get him a decent cb partner. If he doesnt get a contract then I will be protesting!
