'If It's Football, It's Vital'

King Carlos Is Happy

Carlos Cuellar has said he is delighted to be back on the pitch regularly, and he adds he is enjoying playing alongside James Collins.

Speaking to the Official Site after the Spaniard has finally got a run in the team, he said:

'I am so happy, it's great. What makes me happy is being in the first XI every weekend. Now I've got the opportunity and it's up to me to keep my place.'

Cuellar also added about James Collins:

'My partnership with James is working really well, I don't need to say anything about James, everyone knows his qualities. There's good communication between us and I think we're doing a good job. The great thing too, is that we have one of the best goalkeepers in England behind us.'

Carlos' chance has certainly been long overdue given the performances we've seen in defence this season, but he's certainly grabbing the chance with both hands at the moment and long may that continue.

I hate to say this, in fear of offending those who put the work into the VV site, but with one or two exceptions it's just so clear that this site has become a place for people who want to moan and complain. This positive piece about Carlos was posted within a couple of hours of the "petition to remove McCleish" piece. This one has not a single comment while the other is now up to 39, most of which are angry rants and arguments. I fear for our club, not because we have a good, bad or indifferent manager, but because the most vocal of our fan base seem to be constantly looking for negativity and confrontation. I've supported this club since the mid 70's and have seen plenty of dark days and plenty of bright ones, but I honestly feel embarrassed at all these people who think that insults and nastiness are part of supporting a so-called "debate" on the club's future. Whatever the merits of our current manager, is it not infantile and immature to be calling the man a ginger t**t and so forth.....???? (and no I'm not a ginger).

People are only moaning and complaining gmvillan because we currently find the situation at VP intollerable. I too have supported Villa since the 70s, but in those days we knew where we were heading, we were playing decent football and of course we had no internet. In the 70s we had the likes of Vic Crowe and Tommy Docherty. Now we have a manager.... allegedly, who is the most unpopular since ... god knows! I like to think we give praise when praise is due...mainly to players because there's certainly none due anywhere near the managers' office.

Good post, I see the same. I'm careful to challenge others due to the quite wrongful tone and anger of some replies. It would be nice to some more positive articles.
