Carruthers Delighted To Get Back On Scoresheet

Samir Carruthers has said he was disappointed to not find the net against Swansea, so he was delighted to grab one of our winners against Newcastle.

Speaking to the Official Site after the 4-0 victory, Carruthers said:

'I had a few chances against Swansea and I was frustrated I didn't get on the scoresheet, but I was very happy with the win. When I hit the post the second time against Newcastle, I just thought 'I'm not going to score tonight.'

Samir adds that even Derrick Williams was winding him up and shouting 'you never score' at him for a laugh, but the joke was finally on Williams.

'When the goal finally went in we both had a good crack about it. I was obviously delighted to find the net. Derrick wanted me to do The Hump, which is a little dance move but I just thought 'leave it out lad'.'

Am I showing my age, The Hump? What the hell's that when it's at home?

I didn't go down last night but watched the match on AVTV. Superb performance from them all. Carruthers had a great game and he must be very close to getting a little first team time on the pitch. Also Bannan had great movement. We all know he can hit a good pass but I'd like to see a bit more movement from him when he plays for the first team. Gardner scored a cracker and gave a good assist. We could have scored 10 last night and that's being conservative. Great team performance.
