Petrov & Hutton Injury Update

Alex McLeish has given a mini injury update on Stiliyan Petrov and Alan Hutton.

Speaking to the Official Site McLeish said that Petrov would return to full training on Thursday ahead of the Blackburn game, after working individually with Adrian Lamb our fitness coach.

'Stiliyan is training again, he trained with our fitness coach and joined the group for the warm up. He will be back training as normal on Thursday and that's a clear sign he'll be available for Saturday.'

As for Alan Hutton he has returned from Scotland duty after picking up a hamstring issue.

'Alan's got something wrong right at the top of the hamstring, a bit of pain. We will assess him first thing in the morning. We hope Alan's okay because I don't want to keep changing the side every week. It's important we get a bit of consistency.'

Maybe we'd have been a little bit more consistent if we had changed the side when players weren't performing Alex?

Just an idea like.

Eck does add that should Hutton not make it, he has faith in Chris (Herd) and Eric (Lichaj) to step into the position and perform.

pity they're not both out for the season get some fresh blood into a team that is simply not performing
villan57
Isn't Lichaj available again? What's the problem then? Oh yeh...

"It's important to get a wee bit of consistency"?.... Mutton is consistent, just like yourself Idiot..... you're both crap! Hope he doesn't make it.
Pride of Lions
"I don't want to keep changing the side every week" well he hasn't been changing the RB every week has he? Perhaps a poll on whether he should have changed the side in that position, but just the once would do!

Will welcome stan back he gives us a stronger midfield through honest effort Bannan just doesnt do it for me. prefer anyone at right back to Hutton oh mind you just in case ECK ever reads these posts except Heskey.
Merlin128777
lol Merlin sometimes I think Eck does read these posts and does exactly the opposite of what everyone wants. Offer Heskey a new 10 year contract Alex...
Stephen Jay Hawkings
Yeah right, after reading that again, Eck mentions the "don't want to keep changing the team every week" solely talking about Hutton. He's changed every other ******** position except Given, Bent and Hutton unless there's been an injury. He really is best bumchums with Hutton. He'd play Bannan every bloody week if he wasn't so pathetic (despite his effort.) The whole team selection and indeed manager selection should be performance related. Can we stop him from commenting to the press in any way??

Hutton has not been that bad for the last 5-6 games now. Most people have already formed an opinion on him sadly and its become something a little over the top. We got a clean sheet last week.
thekentvillan
5-6 games is a bit strong kentvillan. We only kept 1 clean sheet in all those and that was against the bottom of the bloody table FFS. He scored an own goal off Walcott in the 5th last?!?!?! The only thing that's sad is seeing him in a Villa shirt. Even if you were correct it would've only taken him 7 months to get it right. A postion that he's been playing all his life and arguably ( although there's not much argument against,) it's the easiest position to play on the pitch!!!!
Villan444
Lol Hutton can't play ever again
