'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bent Gutted Following Injury

Darren Bent has said how gutted he is to be out with injury.

Taking to twitter to vent his frustration, our record signing said:

'I'm gutted to be out for so long at such a crucial part of the season. Hopefully my recovery will be as quick as possible and thank you to everyone for your messages of support.'

I'm gutted too. But lets hope he makes a good recovery and hopefully playing in the PL,with us and for a REAL Manager next season!......

Really feel for him having (wrongfully) not been selected for 2 major tournaments so far, thought this was his summer, but with first the possibility of Droopy taking over and now this injury, it looks like a 2014 World Cup will really be his last chance.

Darren I can tell deep down you are not enjoying your football at the moment and I don't blame you. You would score most games if our team was set up correctly and the motivation was top class. Take the time to rest up, think about Villa and HOPEFULLY by the time you are back we will have a new manager and some direction back in this great club. Then you can start banging in the goals and putting Villa and yourself back up where we belong.

This is bad news. It also confirms that we have managed to get just 10 goals from a '20 goal a year' striker'. Very worrying.

As a bit of a wider debate I guess it begs the question why we've allowed a situation where money rules the Prem so much that clubs like Wigan have to allow to have Rugby on the same pitch as Football. Perhaps the FA should ask themselves why the hell we've got our best players turning their ankles on sub standard pitches?

We should take Wigan to Court. Free pies for life for every Villa fan...
