Bent Out For The Season

Darren Bent is most likely out for the rest of the season after repturing his ankle ligaments in his left foot.

Following a scan and a meeting with an ankle specialist, it looks likely that Bent will miss the next 12 weeks, effectively ruling him out of the rest of this campaign.

Bent is set for further examinations over the next week to determine if an operation is required.

Gabby off the wing then?

Here's next Saturday's Eck'scuse in the bag then.
SchoolBoyError
That is a right kick in the cobblers and no mistake.
Dek
Thankfully we have Heskey.
Gordonsleftboot
Oh god. Down we go...
olofthegreat
gives him an excuse again though..
Tr1dent
Now we have a problem. Think we'll still play 4 5 1 with Gabby upfront. Switch to 4 3 3 on occasion. N'Zogbia Albrighton on the wings, but I've got a feeling he'll he'll just play Heskey.
VILLA 4 LIFE
knowing mcleish he'l play heskey upfront on his own.. stupid
Tr1dent
I thought Heskey was a winger, as he does not resemble a striker, only 9 league goals for villa in nearly 3.5 years says it all ! ! But still he walks straight back into the team. I think I may place a bet on Heskey never to break into double figures for the villa, but dont think the odds will be that great.
HKPhooey
We're *****ed.

Aston Villa DB9 will be missed gona have to kick it which our *****tyshento... (see what i did there)
CDX_EIRE
Terrible news, and I love DB9 alot, but we didn't do too bad against Arsenal at home without him did we? Just sayin...
Stephen Jay Hawkings
PLEASE...... Not Heskey! We need to move forward (pass Idiot the dictionary), we must try Weimann up front with Gabby.
Pride of Lions
Weimann's chance...........he's been in top form for the reserves and has to be a better option than the prolific hesk.
holte ender 1969
Hmmmm with Heskey on one wing and Gabby the other who we going to play up front Eck?! Collins, Warnock....... No I got it HUTTON..... ffs this season sucks
AdzVilla11
gotta play weimann
villatillidie77
May I be the voice of mindless optimism? Blessing in disguise maybe? The way we play and with Keane gone Benty would not have gotten a sniff. I think a 4-5-1 come 4-3-3 will be our best formation and we need all our team doing well. Bents a great player and a class finisher but Gabby is much better at holding up the play and also getting others involved. It may help us grind out the wins we need and galvanise the squad. (Thats not a word we here too often now MON is not doing our after game press conferences!). We will miss DB's goals and I wish him a speedy recovery, with a more attacking manager I would be more gutted as Bent would be our best player by far, under McLeish I feel for him!!
Chelt Villan
I feel for him too, now he's got to sit and watch us play. Poor sod.
juddy
I thought we played well when Bent didn't start this season in truth? He was on the bench vs chelsea and we got ourselves 2-1 up before he came on (and admittedly scored) but by the time he was on we'd done the damage and that was our best result of the season.
thekentvillan
We're not good enough to supplement such a striker. Would love to see a 4-4-2 with zog and alby on the wings with gabby and wee-man up front. I can see Eck shoe horning heskey in there though!?! Centre mids?? is petrov fit?
applesmoke
Gulp! Time for the Fonz to return a man? lol
