Gabby Proud To Wear The Armband

Gabby Proud To Wear The Armband

There was one bright moment from the Wigan game and Gabby has talked about his delight at skippering the side for the first time.

Speaking to the Official Site after the disappointing draw, the striker talked of how proud and delighted he was with the honour and said he would be more than willing to continue against Blackburn, but only if Stan remains unfit:

'I was very proud to be captain. It's great to be skipper anywhere, in any situation, but it's especially true for me with a club like this. It's an unbelievable honour and I thoroughly enjoyed it.'

As for keeping the armband and the Wigan performance, he adds:

'We have a fantastic skipper coming back next week in Stiliyan. We're all now looking to Blackburn. We've got to keep our heads up and work our socks off. We're determined to do well there.'
