The Fans Have Turned

Normally the last to turn when the Villa are failing, the away supporters today more than made their point.

The press at large might think we are moaning for the sake of it, or because McLeish is an ex Birmingham manager - but who expects accuracy from the national media.

There is however a tweet from Club Ambassador and all round top man Ian Taylor that should speak volumes to those inside and outside the club.

'Afraid the fans have had enough. The most hostile I've heard towards the manager. They spend their cash and entitled to vent frustration.'

It could've and should've all been so different. Even trying to go for it in games instead of this parking the bus nonsense (sorry Alex it's a not a myth you are a defensive manager, you can't say you have been playing three strikers when one of them is Heskey in bloody midfield and Gabby on the sodding wing!).

You still want to win the fans over...try and win a game then.

Just to put this into some sort of perspective. Yes I was there today and the performance was poor. Wigan deserved to win over the 90 minutes. We had a few chances but they were sporadic and there was no concerted attacking play or intent. Midfield was eak BUT we had two inexperienced players there and they need time to find their feet, Thought Bannan ran his socks off and he made some good passes. Listening to those around me even before the game started, its clear that they will never accept McLeish. I understand the feelings but after the Wolves debacle be careful what you wish for.

Our midfield does not boss other midfields. Both GG and Bannan are good players but they need a quality midfield general to play off. Also, how can you bring Heskey on to play wide when you have Charlie sitting on the bench? It's madness. And no doubt we'll be without Bent for a while............ it isn't good.

Ginger couldn't win a raffle. Lerner is to blame, but he is no where to be seen as usual. Had enough of this regime and our so called 'custodian'... We need an 'owner' Randy. Come and do what Deadly (all his faults aside) done best and had the stomach for, show your face and prove you 'own' Aston Villa. Your tenure of late shows nothing but cowardess, and contempt.

Whats happened to Wolves? Going 2-0 down to Newcastle away and ending up drawing 2-2? Playing well under a man the players and fans respect? Rather risk having someone like that take over Villa temporarily than having this fool at the club, least we would get at least some value for our money when watching them play.

VILLA 4 LIFE. you are right about what has happened at Wolves. They sack their manager and then get a draw from being 2 down....a game they would have lost under their previous manager and guess what... 1 point gained......There is only one answer for Aston Villa and that is to sack the manager....McCleish OUT

Imavillan- I never wanted Mcleish, I've seen Villa lose three times this season, and being a uni student with no money makes it hurt more. I can't understand his addiction to Heskey and why he uses defensive tactics at every game. But he's here to stay, I can't see protests or booing helping anyone. We have a young side, and they'll suffer from it. It's up to the fans, they are the most important people at the club. You have the right to voice your opinion, but for now i won't join you. I can't see it helping. UTV

I haven't changed either, NEVER wanted him and NEVER will!! I'd rather what's happening to Wolves, happen to us. No manager would be better than hopeless Eck as manager. 27years as a Villan and by far the worse football and vibe around our club I have ever witnessed. Keep the songs and banners coming boys, maybe one day RANDY will watch a game a notice something. McRubbish OUT... Wigan??? FFS Pfffhhhhh what a laughing stock we are. My phone is beeping with texts from friends all around the world taking the mick out of us, haven't you had enough?! After all it's 26 games and it's getting worse and worse.

Im afraid we are in a bit of a serious situation manager wise, as VILLA4LIFE has rightly pointed out, nobody rated by us fans wanted the job in the summer why? what is it that turned managers off coming here? money, unfortunetly our squad is poor, some seem to think we are in a false position this being the second year running we are in the relegation mix at the same time as we were last season, Villa needs a mass clearout and that is what managers would see, our defence is poor, we have no commanding midfield presence, and we sold our supply line for bent in the summer, yes Randy gave Mcleish best part of 20million but look at what he had to buy with that:-a new gk, a midfielder, whilst also trying to fill the voidof our two creative wingers ash and downing who were sold for 20million (approx) each, why did they cost that much to buy? we could not replace these players with the amount available to Mcleish whilst also replacing Friedel etc. Martin Laursen is what i have been trying to say for a while to be our new manager, yes he is unproven but he is a natural leader who knows this club from the players club fans etc and we all would be right behind him from the off and could he really be any worse than Mcleish? if Laursen came in as manager he would onlyhave to win 1 in every 4 games to be the same as Mcleish, im sure he would do better than that also he wants the job as he said last year after GH had to retire saying he wanted to manager Villa but he needed to pass his coaching badges first, well he has know passed them.

clivethevillan has explained the situation. The main problem is that the club is so poor in communicating to the fans. We all thought and wanted Hughes, Moyes or even Ancelotti to get the job in the summer, but the club were after McClaren, Martinez, Coyle and we landed Mcleish. Why??? Well I believe it's because no one would have wanted the job. If the Mcleish's position has a job title, it would be 'Tidying up Martin O'Neill's mess'. The club is now managing the wage bill. Mcleish has experience of it at Rangers, where he brought some success despite financial cut backs. This is why he's got the job. When the finances are sorted (2-3 seasons) by getting rid of the dead wood from the club (Heskey's, Dunne's, Warnock's.....) will Mcleish still have the job, thats the big question.

We need to sell out home and away for the rest of the season and support this team to try and stay up - then we need to boycott any season ticket purchases until he is sacked, this team needs the fans more than ever for the last 12 games but then in turn they have to listen to us and give us something back for 2 seasons of absolute pap and amateur decisions.

Bent missed another good chance yesterday and Cuellar, who was an absolute rock missed another really good header. Why Weiman can't get a run out is beyond me. McLeish isn't helping himself with his team selection and his ridiculous substitutions. If Ireland and Zog are fit they should be starting. Really fed up of seeing Gabs on the right wing as well. The boy is a born striker with incredible qualities.

villa 4 life. At Rangers McMuppet had some success with someone elses team. He built his own team, in his own style and that team went on the longest winless run in the History of Glasgow Rangers (10 games without a win in Scotland for Rangers should tell you everything you need to know). This team that McMuppet built came 3rd in the annual 2 horse race. Rangers fans chased him out of Glasgow. And you wonder if he should be the man to rebuild Villa?? What evidence is there that he has ever built a club?? McMuppet couldn't build a lego house.

McLeish with Motherwell: 3 seasons, 2 relegation battles. With Hibs: 3 seasons, 1 lost relegation battle. With Rangers: 5 seasons, 2 titles and a 3rd place. With the blues: 3 seasons, 2 relegations. With the Villa: The ugliest, least successful brand of football since Graham Turner. This is why I want McLeish out. If there's any justice in football, we are going down this year.

Not been this depressed at the state of AVFC since the bad old days in the second division before we were relegated.Started asking for Martin Laurson as manager about the same time as Clive the Villan before Eck was appointed unfortunatley he didnt have his badges at that time. my second choice is now manager of small heath. All Mcleish has to do to win the fans over is to show some tactical nonse, play football with a bit of passion and flair that will at least cheer the fans up win lose or draw. At the moment the lack of football is horrible to watch, the confidence continues to drain out of the players and the appearance of Heskey as sub seems impossible to comprehend much as I admire the guys willingness to play anywhere surely the better options on the bench for the position hes asked to fill scream out mistake ?.ASPINALL hits the nail on the head re any hope of replacing the current manager what a bloody shame it will take lack of investment to make the owner take notice of so many loyal fans. My biggest worry is if Mcleish does go who will this Board appoint next McLaren ?
