Weimann Returns Bent Plaudits

Weimann Returns Bent Plaudits

It's a Villa love-fest lately with all the players praising each other...it's making me all hot. This time round Andy 'the Weeman' Weimann has thanked Darren Bent.

Speaking to the Official Site Weimann returned the compliment to our record signing after he praised the youngsters finishing ability in front of goal, but modest as ever, Weimann passes the credit to Bent for his part in helping him on the training pitch:

'I read Benty's comments on the official site, I was delighted with what I saw. If Benty speaks, you take notice. It was brilliant to read what he said. He's a brilliant marksman, if he thinks I'm a clinical finisher, that's some boost for me!'

As for Bent's help, he adds:

'We always stay behind after training to practice a bit of shooting, it's always good to work with him and he is very encouraging. You can only learn from working alongside guys like that. He always says 'well done'. That sort of reassurance is a big boost, he's a top striker but also a top man too.'

As said if Weimann has added that string to his bow, and recent reserve exploits more than suggest that, then I'm really looking forward to seeing him get a crack in the first team again. Before it appeared he was a more a traditional striker, hold up and link as opposed to a poacher - but if he's worked on that and now can do both jobs the kid could be better than we thought.

And fair play to him for putting the work in.
