McLeish Backs Carlos To Shine

Alex McLeish believes that Collins and Carlos will be a formidable rock in the centre of our defence whilst Richard Dunne is out injured.

Speaking to the Official Site Eck said he had total trust in Carlos to come in and do a job, and put in performances like he did at left back recently:

'I'd like to think the experience of Carlos and James can fill that void (Dunne). It's concertinaed at the moment in the league table and a couple of good victories would get us up there again. If those two can be a kind of rock for us in the coming weeks, there's no reason that can't happen.'

Well Dunne and Collins have certainly been a 'kind of rock' for us this season, namely the kind we bang our heads against so it'll be good to see Carlos get his chance finally.

Now if only we can get Clarkie fit again.

Eck added specifically about Carlos:

'Carlos played in the Manchester City game at left back and he was tremendous. He had a great game. He was voted man of the match and that tells you the contribution he made despite not being a natural leftie. He's a real soldier, you're looking for a group of players you can trust and Carlos fits that bill in that respect.'

So expect him back on the bench when Dunne is fit then eh.

"So expect him back on the bench when Dunne is fit then eh"...Funny. But most likely true, unfortunately

Maybe we can hope that McRelegation gets injured, and we wont have to stand looking at his miserable bonce skulking around the dugout...
