Carlos Cuellar Being Offered New Villa Deal?

Carlos Cuellar Being Offered New Villa Deal?

Sky, amongst others, say that Villa have opened contract talks with defender Carlos Cuellar.

Good, I like him! LOL

McLeish said: 'I think there have been talks and they will be ongoing." Adding about the 30 year old Spaniard "I've said to Carlos it's important he keeps playing as well as he can and then contracts won't be a problem for him. If he produces the form he is capable of, we will get more clean sheets so why would you want to let someone like that go.'

cuellar

He is also quoted saying he doesn`t know if Robbie Keane might return or not. "We have to see where we are in terms of recruitment in the summer but Robbie has had a good influence on the place. Where he is right now probably has a glamorous feeling about it but at the same time he's got a bit of adulation from Villa fans so maybe that has probably whetted his appetite.'

So, you happy with keeping Carlos? I`d take him over and above Dunne and Collins personally! They would both be shipped out this summer if I was boss!

Assuming we give him a CB spot, he would be up with Olof Mellberg (playing him at fullback was a sin as well).

Brilliant news, lets hope a new contract can be agreed. Carlos has been criminally in the past - in his rightful position - so it's up to him now. Keep it up Carlos.

What i like about Cuellar is that with al lthat has gone on, being played out of position, dropped sometimes in my view harshly, he seems to remain professional and get on with giving his best. his best isn't brilliant but at least he appears to try/care

fatloser...spot on. I recall Tommy Johnson being the same. Definitely deserves to be a first team regular, if only for the beard

Not overly skillful, but bloody good at keeping the ball out of goal. A man to count on when grinding out a result.
